It's slow because Metro built and runs it. Read the Metro's own website...The trains are rated for twice the speed that they operate them at. I tried riding Metro for 2 years and I gave up and went back to a car because I was constantly late for work.

Fascinating cab view! Surprising they have to wait for another train at the junction. I would have thought they would have scheduled it to flow more smoothly, especially since it's barely a busy schedule.

They only recently started using the new wye switch. They are having switching issues. I was on the line on the first day of the reconfigured route, and the train twice didn't switch to the route it indicated on its digital signage. The LA Metro supervisor on the shared platform between the C and K lines apologized to everyone for the technical issues.

North Hollywood is a terminal station, and trains are always slow entering it for safety reasons given there’s not as much space to safely stop.

Considering the new summer Olympics is coming to LA in 2028, it's no surprise that LA is trying to upgrade some things their train system especially hell everytime the Olympics comes to any city things get upgraded

The HR4000s are being acquired to expand the fleet in preparation for the D line expansion to Westwood. Alas, CRRC has done miserably with on time delivery, so it’s going to be a small order. Hitachi Rail is receiving an order for the HR5000 series, which will replace the older fleet. Hitachi Rail’s predecessor, Ansaldo Breda, happened to build that fleet as well.

@@TheRailcarbusDUDEeither way, I cannot wait to enjoy these new subway cars. While it sucks there's only 64 and it still stay that way with these HR4000s, I'm excited for the HR5000. The design looks really good upfront , being produced by Hyundai

@@LLocvsttt Yep and the remaining Breda cars which were the 74 built between 1995-1997 those will be refurbished by Woojin industrial systems which is a Korean train manufacturer. They’re refurbishing to keep them in service till the hr5000 arrives.
