My son has special needs and he loves antique machines like those he especially likes the pull grader at 4:04 and says if the tractor that is pulling it were painted orange it would look just like Terence the tractor from Thomas and Friends.

How thay got the throttle wide open was interesting. You pull the accelerator UP and the diesel will stop! And they were spring loaded to idle. Sounds like a crank. I've operated 14's and 24's and they both operate the same way.The transmissions are air shifted so they have to run a while to built up pressure and there is a seperate foot throttle for each engine. What they need is a job running one. They won't last long.

When I was a kid running Cat 619C cable scraper in Alaska, springtime, stripping topsoil for a pad, the slabs of frozen dirt would ride up the ejector and sometimes stand straight up 8 feet above the ejector, top heavy but never tipped one!

Carl Billings, is this Ken hard at work or is it you or Sean? I went out to see Ken work a couple times when he was working locally and help him if I could.....Usually that meant going to the local shop to get him a drink LOL

That's a bloody impressive big scraper,that material is ridiculously tough because that brutish D9H is slipping and struggling every foot to get through, don't kid your self that might D9 (early)D9G and in particular that D9H could damn well push,so when they are slipping with that Massive Terex scraper u have to know its some Very Tough Slogging, cheers bòys

I don't understand why this construction company just doesn't use 631 or bigger scrapers. In the late 80s I worked for Bemis construction out of Great Bend Kansas and we ran old 630 scrapers. George Bemis preferred the 630s because they were faster on long hauls. He made sure the mechanics kept them up and in good condition.
@dennisholst43222 жыл бұрын
I worked with Baby Huey he ran a 630 at the Dallas airport job 40 some years ago he said they put high speed rear ends in them guys were slapping hands on the haul road

Run a small dozer and pull scraper, there alright for short haul or soft ground conditions, using my unit at the moment but running a Cat elevator scraper of my mates for the longer hauls, too much track wear otherwise

These look like toys compared to the Terex tts 24s we ran. I know we hauled 30 or more yards a load. But we had sideboards added on and had 700 horsepower.
