Look im all for good cops being kept safe, the problem is under training of police, ZERO de-escalation and when police assault the public they get a disciplinary rather than a charge. Its one rule for them and another for us! Don't even get me started on the "independent" office for police conduct, when you look at the statistics for anyone from case officer up its over 50% ex police. How is that "independent"?!!?

I understand the bill..but unfortunately it just helps the bad contingent in the force..they can use any force they want in arresting people..and we arent allowed to struggle if it hurts..this is wrong

As a retired officer I do understand this guy's comments. Most of the jobs I went to, we were there to help, albeit an accident, family strife, damaged property, etc. etc. The uniform used to carry respect, but somehow this has been lost, and the uniform has now become a target.

In 2004 West Mercia Police had 2400 officers, over the next 15 years they lost and did not replace 400 officers, in that 15 years the population raised by 10% , 2023 they report 500 new officers !!! They have previously turned a blind eye to it and their Professional Standards Department have refused to investigate their Police Officers Corruption and Abuse of Power!! It is only since the publicity around the death of Sarah Everard by PC Wayne Couzens that West Mercia Police have taken Police Officer abuse seriously. I was personally failed by West Mercia Police when they failed to help and protect me from my violent domestic abusers, because my abusers were mates with corrupt West Mercia Police Officers. Their Professional Standards Department also failed to investigate my complaints, which included evidence of Police Officer corruption, because they didn’t want the bad publicity.
