@artcreationsby1creativedir295Ай бұрын
I have had quite a bit of weight on them. I make a lot of wood rounds. If I had to guess, definitely well over 100 pounds. The key is your poles and making sure you have the fencing secured on the poles. I have made a few improvements to mine and they are very sturdy.

So have you hung any heavy art from this Idea. A lot of my art is layered plywood and can be quite heavy. I would like to know just how this would hold up. Actually I just watched your part 2 video. you answered my question about heavy pieces. However you have a lot of different wire your showing. Which one has the wire embedded inside it ?
@artcreationsby1creativedir2953 ай бұрын
Hello. I started out with the livestock fencing which is the plastic coated wire and would be the strongest. I recently removed all of it from the poles and now attach it the opposite direction. I originally attached it to the poles vertically and had 2 poles for each side of the canopy. I didn’t like the look and it would buckle slightly. I’m planning to do a new video to show the changes soon. The livestock fencing is available in many different lengths, widths and different size squares.
@artcreationsby1creativedir2953 ай бұрын
The white fabric mesh is called privacy mesh for porches or something like that. It definitely isn’t as strong as the livestock fencing but it strong than you might think. For your heavy wood items, your best bet is the livestock fencing.

Yes, I absolutely did. I believe I used Extreme Protection or possibly BRITE Tone. I honestly can’t remember which one 🤣

They look awesome! How many coats of brite tone do you use on the coasters? And do you sand between coats?
@artcreationsby1creativedir2953 ай бұрын
Hello 👋. I typically use 4 to 5 coats, depending on how smooth they are. There is no correct number of coats, it’s really preference. Each coat builds the gloss level and you stop when you like the gloss level. There’s really no need to sand unless you’re using glitter. Hope this helps!

Hello, thank you for this very informative video! I wondered how long to wait to let brite tone cure before packaging and shipping? And will it stick to bubble wrap/ tissue paper/ glassine paper if I’m to ship a product 24hrs-48hrs after the final coating of brite tone? Thank you!
@artcreationsby1creativedir2954 ай бұрын
Hello, great question. As a rule, BRITE Tone is ok for light use after 7 days. I use this as my guideline for packing, shipping or selling. Full cure is 30 days so if I ship anything before the 30 days and after the 7 days, I wrap in tissue paper first, then bubble wrap. I wouldn’t recommend wrapping in bubble wrap directly on the product. Just like resin, the bubble wrap will likely leave those little bubble marks. Hopefully this information is helpful.

Thank you for all of the details and your thought process. This is very helpful and allows my mind to get creative with my own displays. (We sell at a flea market once a month and I currently use grid panels - we have an enclosed cargo trailer and all our panels are on wheels - BUT I love seeing your ideas!) I love your pendant display - now you can see all of them at once. This is my thing... because people are walking by, I don't like to have stuff jumbled up, like you said, to where they have to root through the stack. Love it! Love your idea about the necklace option display. But I do see the challenge with he black options. Could you make a hybrid display... like the larger one you talked about but cover part of it in a lighter fabric? Or burlap or....? Just cut it out and hot glue/ fabric glue it over the black velvet maybe? Just brainstorming. Thanks again for sharing!!

I really like this idea and am trying to make it work for me. Thank you so very much for making this video and for offering all of your feedback from your trials and errors. I am basically doing the same thing, but not recording and posting. First, I was wondering if you could tell me specifically what the material you are using for your hanging surface is actually called. I am doing my best to find a similar product, but haven't had any luck yet. You reference it as livestock fencing from Menaurd's, and that it is relatively inexpensive. I just cannot seem to find such a product. If there is anything else you can tell me about it, perhaps brand name, etc. I would greatly appreciate it. I am going to bite the bullet and buy a set of those poles that attach to the front and back bottoms of your canopy legs. The other thing I was wondering is if you could tell me about how much weight you hang on that livestock fencing. I do framed photography, with images as large as 20x24 with glass, making them fairly heavy. I am trying to judge the gauge of the coated wire I might need to support my artwork. Thanks so very much for all of your help and your time! Best wishes to you with your sales.

Thank for the kind comments. I like to share all my ideas! If you check the description box of the video, there are links to various places you can purchase the livestock fencing from. I purchased mine at Menards but for some reason I couldn’t find it on their website. If you check out the last link, this is an upgrade I made after the video. In hindsight, I would have bought the white livestock fence if I had known it existed. As far as weight, I have some pretty large paintings and wood rounds and I have had no issues at all. You definitely need a good quality canopy to handle the weight. Let me know if you have any other questions.

how many thin coats do you apply to your coasters and how long do they need to cure?
@artcreationsby1creativedir2958 ай бұрын
The number of layers is really a preference since each layer builds the gloss level. Since my paint is really level/even, I typically only do between 3 and 5 layers. Before I changed my bloom recipe, I had a lot of uneven paint and would use more than 5 layers trying to get a smooth surface. Cure time is 7 days light use and full cure after 30 days.
