Salton Sea restoration project. Lol. Do these people really not know history, and how the SS came to be? A true restoration would be allowing it to return to desert. F-ing idiots. $175M came from the inflation reduction act. Lol. Printing money and “Restoring” a lake in a desert to combat the effects of inflation, which was itself created by the printing of money, is the height of stupidity. This is exactly the kind of stupid shit that bankrupts nations.

Love the term "Premium Lifestyle Destination." That's corporate-speak for YOU BETTER BE FILTHY RICH, OTHERWISE YOU'LL NEVER GET INTO THIS PLACE. Will such astronomical wealth last forever? I doubt it. And glass towers are vulnerable no matter where they are. We live in a fool's paradise.

the skyscraper are positioned very close to each other . . . wind buffeting among two skyscrapers can be annoying, especially those on higher floors . . . in places like New York & London the closely positioned skyscrapers are understandable due to limited space . . . but why Dubai bcos space is one thing that they have in abundance . . .

California is always leading the way, including infrastructure, for the benefit of its residents. Well done.

Unbelievable. At 9 minutes 29 seconds, you can see a guy lifting the subway entrance to bypass paying! Why CA does not put barrier to keep non-payers at of the rail systems is beyond me! At 12 minutes 43 seconds, they discuss the LAX People Mover project which is not $2.25 Billion, but actually $3.36 Billion. Think about it. Three thousand three hundred thirty six million dollars. For a tram. That is not even underground. Huge bloated budgets, missed deadlines and constantly going over a gigantic budget to begin with, are almost as problematic as the failure of leadership in all of our agencies. No one ever loses their jobs in leadership for preceding over this mess. And despite giving most agencies virtually unlimited amounts of money, they keep wanting to raise taxes and come back for even more money. The projects are noble, but the lack of accountability in California is breathtaking.

You need to learn the names of places before you start talking. You misprounced San Joaquin, Klamath, and Santa Clara. I am a second-generation Californian. I lived there most of my life until we moved to Northern Oregon to get our children away from the gang mentality.

I live in California since 1969. What mega project 😂. Took 2 decades just to build a 1 mile underground lite rail in SF. Been waiting for the HSR for 3 decades now.
@commentorsilensor37344 күн бұрын
Good thing that useless HSR never gets built. Note, use that waste money to improve public transportation statewide3
@blakeclark58983 күн бұрын
@@commentorsilensor3734 Newsflash: HSR is a statewide public transportation improvement project. Want to see a real waste of money? Futilely building more lanes of freeway that immediately induce more traffic, leading to the need for even more lanes of freeway.
@commentorsilensor37343 күн бұрын
@blakeclark5898 HSR without state of the art public transportation in major cities is waste of money. HSR must couple major metropolitan area with high population density or it is waste of money. Oh don't forget without good public transportation, there is still need to build couple lanes of freeway for car lovers oh I mean train lovers like you to get to train stations. HSR is very very very expensive. It's mission impossible to make money, but it has to serve 80 million annual ride to make intangible benefits. Or some Chinese got frustrated with over building HSR come up this number, 7000 riders per km per day. Ignoring state of art public transportation in local area does not know the meaning of transportation.
@rodneynoriel15283 күн бұрын
They could modernize HWY 5 for a fraction of the cost of those HSR to no where
@mrxman581Күн бұрын
@@commentorsilensor3734The two major cities that will be connected with the HSR do have extensive public transit systems with LA Metro and BART. San Diego also has a growing light rail system.

US has issues with investors not getting their way & their pride and ego alone causes project failure.
@WabuhWabuh14 күн бұрын
The U.S. has a higher risk of project failure due to conflicts arising from financial circumstances, regulatory challenges, or personal disagreements, which can lead to investors pulling out. this is the flaw of capitalism. resources are distributed & risk of friction & conflict is higher compared to china leading to incomplete or abandoned projects.

We need to make inflatable artificial mountains so we put glaciers on top of these mountains and stop these people from using to desalinization to convert salt water into freshwater Whenever they convert salt water into fresh water it rises the temperature of the planet That salt water is supposed to stay there so that it stores carbon dioxide
