lángos definitely is a sometimes food, its way way too oily for me, to the point that i can't have it any more - side note, you do NOT use a knife and fork to eat it, its strictly hands only =) edit: the sour cream really helps with how oily it is, it's a must-have topping for a reason (unless you cant stand sour cream)
@travellinggleefully2 ай бұрын
Interesting! We both hate sour cream, so maybe it’s just not the food for us 😂
@gergely_hajduАй бұрын
Yes, you tear a piece out of it with your fingers, fold it in half and eat it while it's still hot. Unfortunately sour cream is our favorite ingredient and it's quite hopeless to enjoy Hungarian specialities for someone who does not like it. But we also have another flatbread speciality, the "töki pompos" which is less soft and more pizza-like, those who did not like lángos still can try that one.

Was it easy to get around without a car?
@travellinggleefully2 ай бұрын
It wasn’t too bad! The trains were great, and the buses were alright as long as you don’t expect them to be on time 😅 it definitely would have been easier with a car but if you can’t use a car, it’s still possible ☺️

here in Hawaii, 'shave ice' is how it is said and written... always in the present tense, NOT past tense, Likely evolved over generations due to the local 'Pidgin English'. I am born and raised on Oahu over 60 years ago and even in my childhood, it was written and spoken as in its present tense. Howver on the Big Island of Hawaii, the local people there pronounce it as 'ice shave' (inverted), not 'shave ice'. You may still see older establishments on Hawaii island who sell 'ice shave' with their signs displayed as such. Enjoyed your two videos of your Oahu visit, YT algorithm offered to show this video. Btw, you guys did a lot of walking at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens, wow !
@hawaiiguy13 ай бұрын
btww, at the 11:30 mark, that is the Koko Head Crater where there is that 1000+ steps to get to the top... famous hike for locals and tourists... best to go early in mornings or later in the day... less than an hour to get up there at the top ... The Kahala area is affluent/richER people/neighborhood. At the 15:43 you pointed to the Kahala Beach Apartments (low rise condominium) built in the 1960s. Here is where tv/movie star Jack Lord and wife Marie (of Hawaii Five-O fame 1968 to 1982) lived during and after that series ended until his passing. If you had gone to the nearby Kahala Mall Shopping Center, there is a bust of Jack Lord located on the ground level by Macy's Department Store. 🤙

You guys missed out on two of my favorite things to do there! The Exploratorium and the California Academy of Sciences! 🙂 Both are science museums; the Exploratorium is a combination science and art museum!! You went right by the Exploratorium, it's at Pier 15. 🙂The Academy is inside Golden Gate Park. Both of them have adults only night on Thursdays, when alcohol is served, and there's usually a science or community lecture. 🙂
@travellinggleefully3 ай бұрын
Those both sound fun, but we were on quite the budget 😂 you may have noticed that we didn’t actually do any paid activities while we were there. But we’ll definitely be back in San Francisco one day with a bit more money to spend, and we’ll definitely check them out!

14:40 well, in theory it's not legal. One of those things you have to be caught lmao. The USA after all is the land of "why not" , especially California lol. There's actually a Naked Bike Ride every year, both women and women ride bikes naked, and during the Bay to Breakers race, typically there are several naked runners, lmao. The Bay Area is as socially liberal as it gets, and that's how we like it lol....there's a night club called "power exchange" at 220 Jones Street, use your imagination, it's what you might think it is....lmao. 🙂😂🤣😂
@neutrino78x3 ай бұрын
Glad you visited the Bay Area, now you know why millions come here every year from all over the world 🙂It's an amazing place, isn't it? 🙂 As far as the Golden Gate, other options include an electric bike rental, take a cab, or there's also the ferry from San Francisco to Sausalito... It leaves from Sausalito at 7:05 AM, 8:15 AM, 10:55 AM, 1:35 PM, 3:35 PM, 5:05 PM and 6:35 PM. Lyft has bike rental at Lincoln and Graham for $15/day, you swipe your debit card (or your phone) on the bike, ride it across the bridge to Sausalito, come back, and put the bike back in the rack. 🙂 San Francisco itself is only 10 square miles, but has about 800,000 people. San Jose is actually bigger, at over 900,000, that's where I live.....the nine counties that touch San Francisco Bay are known as "The San Francisco Bay Area", and in many ways we act as one big city, but in other ways not, depends on context. 🙂
