No, the 3ds name didn’t confuse many like the Wii U did and the NEW models are more powerful than old ones and obviously, most successors almost never out sell their predecessors unless if it was the ps2

The PS4 was insanely good, the exclusives made me sad being a broke kid that could not afford consoles, the Wii U is underrated and has a lot of good games that got overshadowed by its flop. Idk about the XBOX. Now, the Switch is dominating. XBOX has bad games, PS5 barely has any. Hopefully that changes, since I love Sony games and consoles.

I completely slept through this console generation (got into Minecraft on PC just before the Wii U launched and kinda barely played anything else until after the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles were out), and looking at it now, it's kinda wild to me how every console did well on 7th generation and how (almost) all of them did poorly on 8th gen lol and that's not to mention the 3DS selling less than half what the DS sold and having far less 3rd party support and games in general, and the PS Vita flopping almost as hard as the Wii U, selling like 5x less than the PSP I still ended up getting a PS Vita and 3DS recently and I quite like them tho, think it's a shame they didn't sell very well but I can totally see why that happened (3DS's weak launch lineup, PS Vita's memory cards and Sony giving up on it later on, competition with smartphones etc)

The wii u is underrated! The only thing I don’t like is the secondhand market because it is difficult to find a gamepad if you get just the console.

Gen 7 with the Xbox 360 and PS3 was peak for me because it provided an expansive library worth of exclusives and multi-plat games with quality single player and multiplayer gameplay.

Gen 2 wasn't a real war because Atari just owned everyone same for the NES in Gen 3 Gen 4 with the SNES vs Sega Genesis was the first true war.

As someone with all 3 consoles in this generation I can confirm this is a great generation Wii sports little big planet skylanders and castle crashers all of these games are great I’ve also recently picked up a 360 and it may be one of my favorite consoles ever I truly do think that gen 7 was the best generation

360 was amazing for the first half of the generation. After they focused on the Kinect and stopped making good games it was coasting on previous success. You can tell management was destroying Xbox and it became obvious with the disaster of the Xbox one.

I remember the days of minecraft on my 360 where games would lag if there were more than 5 players yet we continued to play and act like mc youtubers... good times

Actually I would say Atari being slowly eaten away by six competitors (Mattel, Coleco, Bally, Magnavox, Milton Bradley, Emerson) until they self-imploded with ET was THE original console war.
