Thanks! I bought it on sale for $500, $160 for the Spektrum 8S ESC motor, and about $65 in various spur/pinion gears. It's kind of a "budget" speed build, lol.

I run at a local track in the box stock class the rules are you can run a Slash, Losi 22s, DR10 or DR10M chassis and you can run any of the electronics that come in them. For example I run a Losi with the 6500kv Spektrum but with a Traxxas VXL esc, it’s faster than the Spektrum 100a esc, another class I run is real street which is the same as the box stock only difference is no wheelie bar in that one I run a Losi with the VXL motor that is geared for top end so it doesn’t wheelie. In the box stock I’ve been 2.58 seconds the fastest I’ve seen was 2.37.

@@superrocketRCI was told the Traxxas VXL 3s esc is around 200a and doesn’t have a motor limit whether that’s true I don’t know but it does perform better than the Spektrum 100a esc. Another crazy thing is I’ve had Slashes on 3s and have had no problems running them on 3s for 30 minutes but my drag car on 2s 250c lipo after about 4 runs back to back the VXL esc gets so hot it goes into limp mode cause of the high discharge rate of the battery and the Spektrum 100a doesn’t do that.

@@DavefromCA2023 Yes, but the CNHL battery in this video is a 6000mah and is long and wide. The 5000mah fits in there no issues and needed no modifications. Also, the 120C CNHL racing series hard case batteries are not very big and easily fit in my vendetta and infraction.

Lol. Check and make sure the propellers are pushed all the way out to the stops, then make sure all 4 propellers spin freely. If you still have an issue, it could be your joystick is not centering correctly, which you may be able to work it into place, but maybe not. Hope you get it sorted out.

Something is wrong. I'll make 2 or so passes on video, then 5 or 6 more off camera with not drop in speed. I've run both battery packs for at least 15 minutes multiple times.

Thanks for sharing. I hit 80mph on the 26t pinion with 100mm GRP tires, and 86mph with a 31t pinion, but the ESC cut out. I had to turn the punch all the way down and be careful not to juice the trigger too hard, but the as we all know, the Firma 100 esc just cant handle it. I'm still deciding what esc to replace with, I only want to hit 100mph on this car so no need to go too crazy.

@cyclecats I wasn't even able to run a 27t pinion on the stock ESC. I just posted a video breaking 100. I went with the silver hoons, same size as stock, working pretty well so far.

I upgraded to the 150a 2 months ago and the car will just lift off right after 3 seconds of full throttle. I can’t keep mine down, but it’s fun seeing it ripping pavements. I have a radiolink radio that allows you to set the speed gradually. This helped keep the car from flying. It’s pretty neat radio. So full throttle, it pick up speed slowing up until full speed, then it flys.

@davidlee_thomas7247 Do you have a splitter or anything on it to help with downforce? I also screwed down the rear spring adjusters to keep the rear of the car up. It helps, but it will still blow over if it hits a bump or sudden elevation change.

@davidlee_thomas7247 I'm pretty sure it was at or near 100 when it blew over on that run, I had never seen it noticeably faster than the 88 it did on the previous run, its to bad the GPS fell off and didn't record.

I do have splitters install. The thing is just too fast. I do have the same issue like yours when watching you video. Those two wires have to be reversed. I contacted Spectrum, so far they sent me all new parts, like a new ESC 150a, Receiver and radio. Still same issue, sent it all back to Spectrum but calibrated, they just sent new all new parts again. BTW, I 3D printed fender covers and the before and after is night and day. The car is much cleaner. I still have a set let me know if you need it.

On the losi you can turn the brake percentage down on the esc with the button controls. Can also change timing and punch

honestly looks like it sucks, they needed to spend more time on the chassi design, 60° angle is a joke, and that gyro is basically pointless, needs a separate gyro like a v4, weight distribution is gonna be crazy to cause you got the motor on one side then a battery on the other, super un even. mst rmx 2.5 or a yokomo RTR is miles better then this

Having no experience with drift RCs, let alone anything outside of this Traxxas, I can't speak for how good or bad it is compared to other brands plus I'm so bad at it right now to even tell a difference. I will try some others for sure.

Rediculous....... 506.99 CAD for a brushed car that's essentially something they could have sold as a conversion kit for the 4 Tec 4wd for a few bucks more you can get a MST brushless rmx 2.5 and for 50.00 less you can get the brushed version from a company who knows what it takes to build a quality drift chassis

@jamesgeorge2852 I don't think the price is that bad for an RTR. MST RTRs are $399, and the 4tec comes with a Traxxas link and a second set of tires. Now I have no experience with drift cars at all, so I can't speak to the performance of a different chassis, but I do want to experience them so I can have the first hand experience.

@@superrocketRC should grab a RTR MST when budget allows just one look at the bodies available would sway you also every machine is tested on Thier track before its boxed and shipped here in Canada they go for 559.99 for the brushless and 449.99 for the brushed also most of the drift cars you see will be running up to 80 degrees of steering at full lock and a dedicated gyro as well

I personally haven't driven one yet, but based on what I've seen, it's a very capable platform. I like how everything is linked up down the center of the chassis. It is the next drag rc I plan on getting, hopefully sooner rather than later. The drag stuff is fun, I just got to get better at it...

Thanks. I believe those tires you mentioned are just a bit smaller in overall diameter, close to the same size, but a little smaller. If the stock pinion is 12T, you can try a 13T, though I don't think there will be a noticeable difference on the stock pinion between the 2 tires.

@tittentei7331 A taller tire will give it a "gear up" effect, increasing overall top speed. If you're primary going to bash it, I personally wouldn't go over 15t. Just monitor your temperatures when you make the swap, and that will indicate if you get to gear back down for bashing.
