Fun fact regarding the word بس: As you know, in Fusha the word „but“ is لكن while in Lebanese Arabic it is بس. The reason for this difference is that بس is actually a word from the Persian language. In Farsi the word بس is used for „enough“. Several Arabic dialects like Levantine and Egyptian Arabic adopted this word in their dialect as well. By the time they not only used بس for „enough“ but also started using it‌ for the word „but“ ☺️

Hey Angela I have question about „zghīr / zghīre“ in 4:29 . While both words begin with the letter ص, you pronounce them more like ز. Is this an exception in this word? Because normally ص sounds like an empathic س. Interestingly, the plural form زغار even replaces the ص with ز
