Loved this content. I just get a little uneven with my last tie. Being in the hospital though, I started making these with the beading to help remind the order of the draw. So often forgotten. Any suggestions on durable beads for that?

Try hairspraying those threads straight. Dry them real good with a hairdryer or heat gun. They’ll make them stiff and easy to thread. I’ll take care of the frays on the thread.

How much resin glitter mix do you approximate for your Minnie heads to get the thickness and solid glitter? Do you use UV for them vs 2 part epoxy?

wow, what's material for the beads?
@stainedsplinters9 ай бұрын
For the dilation beads I like to use natural stone. So, it varies. I use a few different types of Jade, sandalwood, jasper, turquoise- there’s a lot of different options. I will sometimes use glass or acrylic beads as well. They’re all 10mm.

Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. Do you have a favorite or recommend epoxy? I have both the Cricut and Sihlouette and prefer the Sihlouette. Cricut Design Space has non-stop glitches, so we can't access files and are sometimes not even able to log in. I spend hours a month trying to calibrate my machine to do print and cut. I have never had to calibrate my Sihlouette.

I’m a silhouette user all the way! I love that power of the design software, and I almost never have issues with my machine. I have the Cameo Pro now? But used the original silhouette for probably 10 years before upgrading. For epoxy- 2 part epoxy, I use Alumilite Amazing clear . For UV resin, I use counter culture DIY.

I've watched your videos for badge reels when you spoke about how wonderful beading needles are. I purchased some but I can't figure out how to use them without breaking them!!!
@stainedsplinters Жыл бұрын
Hi Pamela. What kind did you get? If the beading needle is too small for the hole or the thread is too thick, they do tend to break.

@@stainedsplinters I bought the ones you listed on your post.

Instead of the 3M tape can I add a dab of resin and secure it that way?
@stainedsplinters Жыл бұрын
You can, but with the UV resin, it’ll be a bit difficult for the UV light to properly cure the resin. You can use 2 part epoxy (super inconvenient) or a good super glue.

How are these beads/ stones help in the dilation?
@stainedsplinters Жыл бұрын
They serve as visual aides. Nurses use them to help patients understand how their dilation is progressing during childbirth.
@rosariodecastro1842 Жыл бұрын
@@stainedsplinters how?
@stainedsplinters Жыл бұрын
They use them as visual aides when referring to how far along their cervix is dilated. After being dilated 4-6cm (I think 6) they can get an epidural. After six, I think it’s too late for that. They start pushing when they’re fully dilated (10cm). So, it’s just a visual representation of those centimeters.
@AJ-zr1lc Жыл бұрын
@@stainedsplintersit's not too late for an epidural unless you're in too much pain to sit still for it. It doesn't matter how much you're dilated.
