Nice 55 Ford and it sounds incredible, what size exhaust pipes and where are the mufflers fitted, up front, mid-way or at the rear, sounds awesome.
@FordMaverickFanaticАй бұрын
@@grantberecry Thank you! It appears to be 1-3/4" exhaust and they are mounted midway under the floorboards. No positive ID on the brand of glasspacks but they are older ones that's for sure!

Ford block or aftermarket?
@FordMaverickFanatic Жыл бұрын
This was just a stock HO block. Never had an issue with it cracking, but it spun a rod bearing and ended up putting a hole in a cylinder. Wasn't worth sleeving. Would go 10.8x's all day though!

I think balanced and built properly is the key. Did you use main cap studs or bolts? Did you bother doing a girdle? I have a 88 Mustang hatch but love Mavericks

I'm late to the party, sounds pretty mean. What intake is that? Having a tough time finding a single plane for mine. May have to use spacers and a super victor.
@FordMaverickFanatic2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It's been 10.54 at 127.46mph so far in a roughly 3000lb setup. I know there's more ET left in it. Intake is a vintage Gapp & Roush Torker Plus with a 3" spacer to aide with plenum volume.

@kirklandracing3 жыл бұрын
Yes I know what you mean. Comparing 60’s Thunderbirds was not enough to convince me. Nobody uses those cars as hot rods they just use the motors. We Ford people are crafty and can put those FE engine in a Maverick and watch them fly. This Tony guy is a legend in his own mind. He needs to stick with those Moparts and leave the blue oval alone.

Man that's some sweet sounding music Sir. I'm building a stroker too, just not sure if I should stay safe at 331 or go for the gusto at 347. I bought some Flo-Tek aluminum heads for it, a Comp Cam valvetrain kit with the biggest comparable cam for the heads, flat tappit, and Scat forged rotating assembly. I already have Hooker Headers bolted on the car and ordered Flowmaster Super 40 series with 2.5 inch pipes. I'm running a Holley 600cfm on a Weiand Street& Strip aluminum mid plane intake, but I've got a 750 double pumper and a 2" spacer for once I throw the goodies in it. I read several reviews on the heads so I took a shot. If they don't cut it, I know some Brodix will
