They just added this for Brewmaster Purified Chi maximum stacks reduced to 6 (was 10) and now increases Celestial Brew’s absorb amount by 35% per stack (was 20%).

It's crazy how they don't give a fuck of brewmaster since the start of the season. Looks like they just don't have time to do something. To me we need : 1) 2 charges of fortifying brew 2) buff celestial brew 3) Buff expel harm or out of gcd and cost no energy 4) Make SCk a real spell again 5) Gtfo with your bok combo, just feel bad to not purify brew when you want to because it will consume it and does nothing usefull 6) Make our Burst a real Burst spell, not this shity 30sec buff that apply a debuff which you have to stack 4 times ?? that you can only use at a openning pull or waste half of it. This spell is fucking crazy like how rsk aplly an aoe debuff ???, since months i play brew i still don't get this shit bro wtf 7) utility, like you said for rop, since leg sweap is just a surviving button now that the casters recast

the problem i ve with pal prot, he is doing great in everything, DPS, tankiness and utility to the group. If pal prot has great utilities to help his group " support kit" , he should be not that strong in damages to balance the value of his kit overall. Earlier, monk tank to counter the lack of utilities, he brought damages, he was the strongest damage dealer tank, it's not the case anymore

Great videos man, I've watched all these in prep for S2. I put down Brew at the end of Dragonflight, grouping pulls on it always was exhausting having dps pull off me because SCK not really having a ton of threat. Excited to pick it up again though, appreciate the thorough explanations!

-Celestial Brew needs to provide 10-20% DR for ~7seconds or something similar instead of the useless shield. It could also scale based off of current stagger level. -Higher base healing for expel harm, but a bit less healing for the healing spheres (so ~40% higher floor healing, but same or similar ceiling). -Ox stance needs a redesign. -Buff Niuzao. -Make it so staggered damage gets rapidly purified when out of combat for more than 3 seconds. -Increase base breath of fire DR to 10% OR just make the Celestial Flames talent have a 100% chance to proc. -New optional talent: passive that decreases your armor by 6%, and then gives you like 3% additional armor per enemy within 10 yards, up to 15% (+10% net armor with 6+ mobs within 10 yards). It would be an armor loss at 1-2 mobs, neutral at 3 mobs, and an armor gain at 4+ mobs. This would make it useful for pulling larger packs in M+, which is its weakest point, but make it worse for most bosses. Obviously the numbers could be changed. -Buff PtA in general.

I preferred how its mitigation worked until BFA, when it changed to SL and added celestial brew, the monk was never the same, it was only meta in S3 of BFA and from there to this day it has always been one of the worst ranked for M+.

man every time I look at our talent tree I just get depressed, it's so dog water, our capstones are all hot garbage and the one that we DO use is only because there's nowhere else to put the point, Blizzard continues to act as if the class doesn't exist while other tanks are getting multiple reworks and constant changes in patches I'm at the point where I would be ok with a nerf, then at least we would know Blizzard hasn't forgotten the spec exists

So sad to hear that Niu Zao isn't used. I tried the spec in SL and was so fun, for me, the most enjoyable tank, tons of mobility, unique playstyle due to Stagger mechanic, amazing damage, so satisfying to kill something with ToD and when I was good I could try to vivify someone else too! Hope devs give some love to brewmasters. Also their transmogs and class hall weapons are awesome

Brewmaster has been meta in raid many many times…. The nature of stagger is too OP in raid, making it hard to balance in M+.

this has been a problem for some time, when utility tanks, or perhaps what used to be off-tank or hybrid tanks are competitive in damage and tankiness to pure tanks, that is the mistake/ The way this could be corrected is if the warrior/dk/monk could gain additional tankiness or damage or some combination of both that would make up for their lack of utility, to allow for bigger pulls, or take burden off the healer. Having a tank that can infinitely ranged interrupt, brez, off-heal and shield, movement control/space deny etc etc, should not have equal damage & survive to tank that has neither of those, that is simply poor design. There should be clear tradeoffs picking one vs the other, and the remaining team comp should be adjusted to compliment, that would be far more interesting, perhaps it would also allow more than one meta comp.

idk much about kit but having something like the pvp talents where you could knock mobs off the map and kill them or do idk 25% hp dam to them would be a move as i see grim batol rolling in the back ground. also the utlilty gets into like grip no grip or glide no glide. i don't enjoy the idea of having a "magic tank" etc etc

It's not just brew, it's monk. Since they gutten the usefulness of stops. All monk really brings is 5% phys DMG sooo they literally bring nothing that another class cannot do. The Phys boost has also been nerfed with all these advanced classes moving pure Phys classes to be part magical. The class as a whole NEEDS something to bring to the group.

I think old black ox statue passive would just be too broken in M+, I would add Elusive brew(30% dodge for X seconds based on amount of stacks generated by melee swings-double generation if crit, 6s cd, up to 15stacks - different stack generation based on weapon type - dw used to be 1-2 per swing, staff/polearm 2-3 per swing) back and rework mastery to a tool that increases stagger potency by a small margin per mastery point and a stagger tuning switch for m+(like disc has one for atonement). Making Rushing Jade Wind also much more powerful but replacing SCK instead of being a bonus button would be nice too.

Zen med is another that could be reverted to something like it was originally that would make it far more useful. I don't think it would hurt having our "shield" actually be big enough to shield anything really. Celestial brew just pops the instant you put it up and kind of feels bad. Like a low health vivify or big expel harm feels good... you know it just gave you a massive heal and actually helped.

Love BM gameplay but playing more as a side fun stuff to do in chill not super difficult content, like doing 8-10 keys - it is super fun, could just use sth. That 8% heal buff was nice group buff - too bad it’s gone. Was thinking talent making crane kick like a cyclone pulling mobs to monk would be great. Could come with some CD on it or sth. Anyways, now it’s as you said - run out of purify charges and daad- still super fun to play - just not as tanky I guess. Keg of heavens should return.

Im starting doing m+ with my brew but im thinking about dropping him because i recieve a lot of blame for picking the useless tank also in pugs im not getting invited because of it. I dont know what to do because the brew is fun but.. its a bit depressing being the "worst tank".

90% Prot Pal in high keys, over 50% same full comp. This is not a Brewmaster problem, this is a _game_ problem. They need to stop homogenising so many things because it encourages *MORE* homogenisation. They need to; Increase diversity in the mobs, their abilities and damage profiles; Increase diversity within individual dungeons, with more route choices that favour different tank profiles fighting different mobs and using different tech; Increase diversity in the dungeon pool, having drastically different damage & kit profiles between dungeons so different tanks are better in different keys, and; Increase diversity in gearing, have trinkets/procs/sets that you can swap between to synergize with talent choices and adapt to specific scenarios within that type of content. But no, instead people cry for Blizzard to water the game down and make every spec just like the meta spec instead. I swear in a year every spec will play the exact same and everyone will be saying "hey remember when..."

You cant compete to druids or palas. Utility is too strong. BR + Despell + utility is insane. No other tank has this. Even if bear or prot pala is bad, they still bring strong utility. Its like mages. Even if they are bad (like now) they are still 80% ahead of other dps specs.

Monks in general are starved for utility. Last expac we at least had passive raid/p buffs in generous pour and.. bounce back? I think? Give us some class fantasy utility. Passive or non passive.

i see the ring of peace suggestion and im like "PVPers not gonna like this" my view is because we couldnt do bigger pulls (due to kicks or immobile mobs) therefore brew wont be a meta. since brew can absorb tank buster easier than others, we could technically pull more mobs than other tank. Yes we have lesser def CDs but the original design assumes we will be pulling bigger due to stagger(and smaller without cd) , but we can't right now due to M+ philosophy of not pulling big I dont fancy the idea personally to make brew more like other tanks (cause then we might as well play that class) but design dungeons so our toolkit is being valued (Like other tank had to take 1 pack, but we could do 2 or 3 because we could absorb the tank buster)

It’s said in the video but survival is #1 when it comes to m+ meta just pinning since some are confused and after survival comes toolkit if its needed in the season (for example pally toolkit hasnt been needed in some seasons cause one shots arent abundant or the dps meta can survive without them) and vdh sigils can be useless in some dungeon pools for example

I also think brew just has bad design ideas behind it. Blizzard said in the TWW notes that they want brewmaster to take more damage because they take damage smoother than other tanks.. which is an absolute lie. We're lightyears away from warrior's stable damage income lol. A warrior's worst damage taken, a blocked hit, is the same damage reduction as a brewmaster's damage intake before stagger damage. Except warriors.. dont take stagger damage after. Just compare the first pull of a NW+16 prot war vs brewmaster, the way the health bar jumps is night and day. I think blizz just lives in the past where stagger was almost 100% Also, aren't prot paladins squishy right now? I beleive theyre meta because they can still survive while doing very high dps + strong utility. They do have an insane suite of cooldowns though.

Blizzard is probably talking about raiding. Right now in mythic raiding, Brew is meta and still has the smoothest damage intake as well as being the most survivable tank. I feel like that's the problem with the stagger mechanic itself. Stagger is just too good for raid but terrible in m+. If brew gets buffed defensively for m+ then they just outperform every other tanks in raiding. Would be great if there's a talent to reduce stagger % by a large amount for a less equivalent DR/self healing.

@@RodrigoLima-dt4gx I see a lot of channels and comments touting this as a solution to "X healer or spec" and it's just a weak take. Not even all the healers work the same - that fix worked specifically for disc because of the way in which it heals and how the healing scales in larger groups sizes. How exactly does having fewer people in the party make Brew weaker? It doesn't. You still have to balance the spec, all you've done is move the starting point. It also restricts how you balance and rework the spec you apply it to; Like it could have worked for Paladin when Glimmer was a thing - instead of putting a hard cap on glimmer targets in raid, they could have done a fix like that but Glimmer wasn't "historically integral" enough to Hpal's kit to leave it alone and make a foundation-level band-aid fix instead. Atonement is the cornerstone of Disc and has been for 20 years so if they had left them with buffed overall throughput but capped Atonements in raid there would have been riots. In the same way, now they can never rework Atonement without reviewing the M+/Raid throughput split because changes are going to have varying impact based on content - like I said, you still have to balance the spec you're just moving the starting line. We should remember that before the giant band-aid, Disc wasn't just "bad" in M+ - it was _literally unplayable_ in M+. It's one or the other and I am in favour of specifically tailored changes and reworks to specs rather than this room-temp-IQ fix of "just give it a flat increase wherever it sucks". Don't give them an easy out by letting them move the goal-posts based on content - make them do the hard work and balance the f*cking game. We already have lame, generic Tier bonuses incoming - I don't want them getting even lazier and acting like "we asked for it".

@@graysaltine6035 If they were to add increase stagger effectiveness tuning switch for brew it's not for lower amount of players in the content, it's just for the amount of mobs hitting it in combat, in raid you rarely tank boss + multiple adds, it's usually just the main boss, and you have your co tank to play with too. It's also not a content that infinitely scales with dmg. I do agree that this type of tuning switch doesn't work for majority of specs, but for stagger it makes a lot of sense since stagger is just particularly trash vs higher mob counts while being very strong vs single targets.
