This nearly brings a tear to my eye. The music, the production, the fighters, it's just perfect. Japan always knew how to put on a show. The UFC could only dream of reaching this type of achievement.

Same here bro, agreed 100%. UFC would never even come close to replicating this. The Japanese care so much for their fighters, each PRIDE opening was seemed almost a fighter introduction like Tekken or Street Fighter lol.

They really honored the fighters

Agreed. Pride was much more of a spectacle vs ufc which is more of a serious fighting organization. But what puts pride over the top is they were also a top notch fighting org.

How I miss Pride FC events, I remember traveling to Manchester to see a tape trader who would sell the Pride events. That must of been way back in 1997-98. How my love for MMA increased because of those VHS tapes I’d watch of Pride.

It’s weird that in Japanese combat sports there is such a heavy American presence. The belts have English letters printed on them. The names of the company’s are largly presented in English. I know the Americans helped start Japanese pro wrestling but damn it was only a few decades ago that the atomic bombs were dropped, yet they love Americans. They give American pro wrestlers the rockstar treatment
@MistaGrim5 жыл бұрын
They have everything printed in English because there are competitors from all over the world and I guess they figured that it's more of an accepted universal second language for international fighters. Also to garner more interest from the USA and the fighters we had here at the time.
