My QNAP TS-251+ had a drive failure on 2nd drive. drive 1 is good.. How can i get my data off the drive 1, windows wont see it i dont think? please help
@ezmirza21 күн бұрын
It's a nice, very straightforward video. I have a second QNAP that is working, and the TS451 is having similar problems. Also, I agreed that I move to a small storage option due to power consumption compared to a Dell Power Edge server, which has two 750V and takes a lot of power. The most important part is pulling the data off from these devices when they are not working compared to a server if it is a Raid 6 or 5 drive that can easily be replaced. Now the question is what is going to be used for it for gaming or video streaming small Nas like Synology or Qnap have several Apps that support for that purpose.

my ts-253be just doesn't start anymore. i seriously think to move on windows 11 NAS. but how do i recover my folders fromn QTS to Windows 11?
@tassiebob23 күн бұрын
For me at least, the easiest approach in that situation would probably be to install the drives into a Linux PC and mount up the software RAID - but I have plenty of spare Linux PC's to do that with. I'd have to Google how to spin up the MD device, but otherwise (in theory at least) it shouldn't be too bad.

I don't have a soldering iron. Do you think i can braid the wires on the resistor and wrap with a bit of duct tape before the shrink tube?
@christianhowes211 күн бұрын
just buy a soldering iron from Harbor Freight, a resistor from ebay (variety pack)and learn how to solder, it's easy.

Logitech G413 keyboard has problems on key repeating plus keycaps lose paint reported by many users online, a fiasco, are there more Logitech keyboard models with this problem or others reported in mass? or is this one a isolated case? i bought this keyboard and now is trash, wasted money. My last keyboard was a plastic Logitech and it lasted 16 years. Nowdays don't know what to buy all keyboards seem rubbish.

I have two G413's and both ended up having the same problem. These days, for low-use keyboards I just pick something up from the local eWaste places. For high use (which right now is really just my work PC) I've got a unit with Cherry keyswitches.

@@dudipahima9215 to me it's clear that logitech peripherals aren't quality made and they're not worth investing unless they're super cheap and on discount. both logitech mice and keyboards fail far too quickly than they should. this keyboard wasn't heavily used, i stored it away for a while because i didn't have a proper desk and it was heavy in comparison to the wireless cheap membrane keyboard i have and yet, the switches in this keyboard are failing. absolutely unacceptable level of quality control from logitech.

No teletext Mode 7! That would have been incredible if the Acorn Electron had had a Mode 7 chip. It always started on Mode 6. I absolutely loved Mode 7, even if the mode had run slower what with a lot of the machine's logic going via the ULA, it would still have been great. Never mind, in the end I got a BBC B computer which I was using earlier this evening.
@tassiebobАй бұрын
Yeah, the lack of MODE 7 was what I missed the most - the MODE 7 font was really nice, and being a character mode (vs bitmap) it was very light on memory. I wasn't into games, so the lower performance wasn't a big problem for me.

I'm going to have to look at the delete key again - but the PCB seems OK, and the switch seems OK. Unless it's related to the orientation of the keyswitch (ie, it works, except when it's pointing upwards in the normal direction). I'll have to play with it some more. The other keys have all come good.

13:10 That pad is insulating the solder connections (THT) from the USB connecting wire. Not sure if they were forced to do this or did it on their own, but this is quite usual in consumer electronics. Logitech still cares. About your solder mixing and breaking again, that is not really true, atleast I have never heard of it, or seen it myself. I would be more concerned about the pass ripping of the PCB than anything, especially when soldering a second time

I enjoyed your video. I have an X-540 system that's no longer producing output from right rear channel or the sub. In your opinion is that kind of fault fixable in this system?
@tassiebob4 ай бұрын
Probably - could be as simple as a couple of broken wires in the cable, a dud connector, or dud solder joints where the connectors are soldered onto the board. For the right rear, I'd try swapping the speaker with another to see if the problem moves (ie, the problem is the speaker itself)

No meaning to be an ass here but TL DR would be very helpful here. I am just trying to get to the actual problem. And why Intel is at fault, without going to the lengty video. For people searching for it , as I understand it : TLDR: There is a fault in the CPU hardware that leads to the voltage being to high. This can be sorted with a workaround fix that the poster kindly made very clear. But this is a workaround and will fail eventually. So this workaround is only cleared out to get the data of it. I just installed a thirdparty software diskgenius to be able to read EXT4 on windows 11. This led me to be able to copy it all safely without needing nas. I didnt do raid so for me it was fairly simple.

23:20 - those two keys are different, but on a EU market I guess they are also labeled differently. The right one is what we call a Graph ALT (ALT GR) and it is used to alternate between special letters, like e-ę, a-ą, s-ś, c-ć, z-ż, x-ź, n-ń etc. I was surprised to see, that your's (well, your customer's keyboard) doesn't have that ALT GR!

To reset your device to factory defaults, please follow the steps below: *Step 1:* Make sure your device is connected to a network and the status light is solid green. *Step 2:* Please use an unfolded paperclip to press and hold the RESET button for at least 20 seconds while your device is plugged in. *Step 3:* Please wait 60 seconds for the device to reboot. And this process will change all your settings back to the factory defaults.

My TS-451+ just died. Internet search found this and some other videos about the 100 Ohm fix I soldered in a 100 Ohm resistor and my 10 year old 451+ came back to life. No data lost. But now I have to wonder how long before the thing finally dies. I really do NOT want another QNAP NAS with unreliable intel components - but the AMD stuff is 2X the cost.
@sobolanul964 ай бұрын
both qnap and synology were affected by the bug. Synology also had issues with the PSU and depleted battery booting issues. All the products containing that C2000(i think) processor are plagued by the issue. Luckily in the case of these machines you can patch them up. In the case of laptops and other low power devices the repair chance is low...

You mention pin 1-100 ohm-pin 8 is to lower the LPC clock voltage. How about pull up the LPC clock voltage? I am not sure if my TS-451's LPC voltage is lower than 1 V, but I wanted to know how to pull up the LPC voltage? and see if that help.

We have two G413's and both eventually developed the dreaded double typing issue, first one lasted about a year and 2nd one only recently started so it lasted about 3 years, seems like once the issue starts it spreads like a virus throughout the keyboard, will not be purchasing Logitech mechanical keyboards again lol. on a positive note my old Logitech K310 non mechanical keyboard still working great after 11 years of use so far.
@CarlosQuidenao5 ай бұрын
I faced the dreaded double tapping recently, literally disintegrating the keyboard against the desk before getting a new one. At first I accepted the problem and took the keyboard apart to replace the faulty switch, then it moved on to another one and so did it, but as you say this branches out and spreads like a virus, getting to the point where all or almost all the keys do it, a complete pain for any key that isn't hot-swappable. Now I hope the Redragon Magic Wand Pro K587 doesn't let me down, but Logitech never again with these kinds of "proprietary" switches.
