What happens to the urine?
@TinyDreamer
@TinyDreamer 10 күн бұрын
The urine goes out through a blue pipe stubbed out through the bottom of the tiny house. You can do various things from there.... You can connect it to septic or sewer, Connect it to a gray water holding tank and then dump it... Or you can drain it into a filtration system into the ground Using rocks, sand and other filtering items.

@aranzazuarambula2868 I did what had to be done in the situation that I was in. Now that I have my own property, I can make a proper compost pile for it. But a year ago, I replaced the compost toilet with a regular flush toilet to make it into an airbnb for the time being. Once I move back in, I still have the toilet, so I can switch it back out and compost correctly.

Nice Job. Nice Kitty and curious. I use bleach. I thought I smelled mold (the slightest hint) and just did a double flush with bleach. The instructions for this old GE smartwater I have said to use bleach. I am sure that changed due to EPA or people using way too much or being PC, or simply not rinsing enough. I let the bleach solution which I made stronger than usual sit for quite a while. I then flushed everything many times using 12 gallons of tap water. Hopefully this works. I did not see anything like you depicted with that black stringy material. A few black flakes at the bottom of the bucket I drained the reservoir into but otherwise it ran clean. I too waited too long to disinfect.
@TinyDreamer
@TinyDreamer 22 күн бұрын
Thank you! I too feel I waited too long to clean it. And I refuse to use bleach on anything... So that left me with a more natural way of cleaning it. After I cleaned it, I still ended up getting rid of it and replacing it with a berkey waterfilter. 😔
@OdinsCloud
@OdinsCloud 22 күн бұрын
@@TinyDreamer I understand the bleach fear to some degree but it rinses out pretty easily and it breaks down very quickly. In all honesty i would consider environmentally friendly. Bleach is sodium hypochloride and it breaks down very quickly in to NaCl & H20 which is salt and water. So as long as you are not pouring it into ponds or using very excessive amounts it is fine. Using a sodium hypochloride solution to disinfect a cooler or lines should be very effective and will quickly break down. I flush by using 5 gallon jugs ( 2-3 fills) full of fresh water and the water tastes / smells the same as from the jug directly. I am not saying this for you so much as for others because a bleach solution is very effective and very safe if done correctly. I took particular interest in your channel because I am in the process of making a property of mine autonomous / off grid capable. I brought in electric service (paid $) but want the property to function comfortably without service indefinitely when/ if needed.

try virginia. we have a lot of land zoned agricultural and in active production.. Ag zoned land has very liberal use options....... try looking for a piece of land that had a mobile home on it, or has one now. you can keep or get rid of the Mobile home and the land already has septic and well and electric.... you can legally park most RV's and tiny homes on land like that. that usage is grandfathered in.....sometimes you can find a mobile home on some wonderful land, and already has a shed, driveway, maybe a garage, or fencing, garden, etc...

Can the salt get into the yard when it rains? I'd like to do this but I'd hate to kill my yard if it seeps into the ground
@TinyDreamer
@TinyDreamer Ай бұрын
In my personal opinion and experience with this salt... It did not work. Right now my paths are filled with weeds. And this is all after the salt project. I've had a couple people tell me that when I mow the lawn, those weed seeds get into the gravel.... As well as when the gravel was delivered, there was weed seeds in the gravel to begin with. Now I am tempted to use some kind of stronger solution to kill the weeds, but like you, I am wondering if it's going to seep into the ground as the water flows down and get to my other plants. So I feel like I'm stuck again with all these weeds. And I don't know what to do.
