Lucca is clearly a town for me.😍 The mountains, hills, and valleys of Tuscany and the elaborate medieval architecture make it visually arresting. And, of course, great gelato (especially super dark chocolate) is worth a trip anywhere. 😋 I'm so glad you were able to go back to Lucca after 10 years and found it as charming as you had the first time. More vibrant Vietnam, and I love it! At night, it _does_ look like a fairyland! The cooking class looked fun! It's the plethora of herbs that one finds in Vietnamese cooking that really interests me. I love traditional bánh mì , but it's the herbs which make a vegetarian bánh mì so delicious. The lanterns you created are _gorgeous,_ btw! I'm so glad you had a blast! What a colorful city! And so many people. I'm a sucker for temples, shrines, and other places of worship--I always feel that the walls have absorbed something of the soul of the people. Beautiful temples there in Saigon. It was interesting that Japantown was a hotbed of "soliciting." The girls didn't really look Japanese. 😆 Sorry you were accosted. The fruit and fruit drinks always look so refreshing. I love mangosteen. And, the sweet coffee, particularly iced, is appealing. Also, I'm glad Tim could find vegetarian fare. I like both sweet and salty. But i prefer softer. The only thing i notice when i eat half a bag (ca 4 ounce) is that my heart may beat a bit faster for say 1/2 hour, not immediately but a few hours after eating it. In the Netherlands every supermarket has 20-80 kinds. I think the most foreigner friendly kind is Engels drop. It is a combination of soft licorice and colourful coconut layers. There is even a liqueur named dropshot (20% alc.) Maybe drop is only nice when you get it at a young age. Just like licorice root. I dont like the root. That is often drunk as a tea, which i also dont like. Children often like that one

I don't believe that someone can eat only a slice of bread for lunch. For a normal person lunch is usually a meat, side dish, bread, tea and some dessert. For tall dutch people one slice of bread is nothing.
