More control over the experience. For instance; If Apple Store bans an app I want, I'm out of luck. If they ban it off Google Play, I can still install it direct from the developer. There's really nothing of consequence that the Iphone does that's fundamentally better than Android. The real reason people buy the Iphone is because they think it makes them cool, and they pay a premium for it.
