I have both of these amps, definitely the Twinolux sounds better to me. Was the Twinolux at full power with the two speakers?

i was there that night too.. standing right behind about where your were.... i've seen him several times over the years. Schenker was ON FIRE that night....every song.... i wish you had the whole thing for rock bottom... but this is great...thanks for sharing !!!

yes I agree with that comment. that's why I prefer the Twinolux. it's also quite warmer. I replaced the power tubed with Electroharmonix and it has an even better tone, imo. more distinct hi, mid and low and adds more headroom a little. but that's just a personal preference. the twinolux is the only new amp that actually sounds like a real old fender to me

It sounds like the Twinolux is a bit clearer sounding, less compressed, and brighter in the mids and highs. Is that what you're hearing too?

I love the smile when he first unleashes the beast. That is a tone chaser's smile as if the just found the holy grail. In fact, he just may have built a new one.

I am a big vintage Marshall guy. Up until Saturday, I thought nothing could be better. A clone could be "as good" if built by the right person. What I am trying to say is that if anyone would have told me that there would be something better than my Vintage Marshalls, I would have dismissed it as nonsense and went happily about my cork-sniffing. When I heard this amp, I had that feeling of excitement that there was something this good out there; then the realization that an amp like this could really make my vintage amps obsolete. George is a rather modest genius. Whatever this amp costs, it's worth it. I'd rather sell my wife into white slavery than part with one of these.
