How to replace oil sensor on a 2000 Nissan fronter
@Pr0ph3cy-k5z

If the 2000 is like the 2001 3.3 frontier, it is located next to the oil filter and held in by 1 or 2 bolts. Easy access. Super easy and fast.

Im wondering why there was a gasket on the thermostat housing? According to the frontier foums and the manual there isnt a gasket, says to just use rtv and thats how it was from the factory.. Edit- ok, did some research, they do make a gasket but its not recommended to use it😅 This is one of the things id definitely do it right and use rtv. Its a good bit of work in a tight space to risk taking a short cut with a aftermarket gasket.

Was it throwing a code for the thermostat? Or was it just having issues with cooling?

Looks nice! I'm looking to enclose by barn soon and I always heard the metal wasn't supposed to be in contact with treated lumber? You think it's ok to put the rat garde straight on that bottom board? I'm assuming it was treated wood. Thanks!

We built it directly to the specs from the plans we got from Menards. It is pressure treated and the rat guard went straight on it.

@Rbenterprises4

I just completed this same repair, but without removing the belt tensioner/bracket. I disconnected the negative battery cable, unplugged the pressure switch to the ac line, and removed the upper radiator hose clamp and moved the hose and wire out of the way. Then I simply removed the bolt to the bracket holding the pipe connecting the lower radiator hose to the thermostat. Then I removed the front hose clamp to the short thermostat hose, moved the lower hose and pipe out of the way while leaving the short hose in place. I was able to fit a 1/4” extension and 12mm socket under the ac tensioner bracket and remove all 3 thermostat bolts. I drained and flushed the radiator, all the hoses, block, and reservoir. I started at 9 am and will finish by noon, (I let my RTV sealer cure in place for almost an hour before final tightening the thermostat bolts.) Thanks for this video showing me the worse case scenario!

Thanks for posting. I have about 429,668 miles on my 03 Accord EX 4 cyl. I watched several videos before attempting this. It took me less than 8 minutes to complete and saved a lot of $$ doing it myself. I used scotch tape to hold the new sensor in the 27mm socket as I hand-turned it into place. Removed tape from socket then snugged with ratchet. I did unhook the negative from battery in order for the engine light to go out. Runs so much smoother.

I have watched a good amount of videos on how to do this job, but I have noticed in pretty much every video that there is no black box (I believe it's the starter) underneath the intake manifold so I am basically operating blind. You guys made it look so easy! I have tried to complete this multiple times over this past weekend and only luck I have had so far is removing the connector. I have been using the tiny sliver of space on the left side of the engine as my sightline to the sensor, but it has been a struggle. I went to pull the sensor yesterday multiple times and every time I thought I had a bite, I would pull out my tool and the sensor would not be in there. My biggest gripe is not being able to see through the intake manifold. If I could see I feel like the job would be much easier The difference I noticed between your video and the others is that you used a 25 mm socket. I was recommended to use a 27 mm on the other videos I watched. I wonder if maybe the socket is the wrong size? It is hard to tell because of the limited space and sight available I have an 07 4 cylinder and need to complete this to pass my annual inspection in TX. Looking for any advice/recommendations.

A buddy of mine rented a dozer. By the time he figured out the do's and don'ts, he'd done $9,000 worth of damage to the sheet metal and windows. He could have bought a decent little dozer for what it cost him to rent and repair one.

It's nice seeing people doing there own work. Lot of learning curve behind it tho. I am a contractor but also a do it yourself homesteader. As business aspect it would of been thousands to hire this done, as a learning homeowner it's hundreds and more time. Plenty enough machine to ruff in a road. A excavator with a thumb would of made your life a bit easier but well done 👏

@@johnnydelio7078 I wouldn't be able to do half the work I have done without the tracks because I'm constantly on the hills. They still slip quite a bit if they get wet but I think overall they've been worth it. I'm pretty sure I would have been stuck in the mud several times without them.

I have run one of those newer dozers with the Hystat drive. My favorite small dozer that I ran was a Cat D4H, it has a suspension undercarriage. The ride on it is much smoother than my Cat D4C, but a little bit bigger. When I need more power I will get my D6D. I like those Cat machines. John
