I have one of those Jim Dandy guitars. I play country blues a lot and, sometimes, i even feel like I'm alright. Then I see something like this and I realize I got a long way to go haha. Great stuff, mate. Beautiful.

Thanks! I've always used D'Addario, usually 12's but for this guitar I have a set of 11's. I haven't tried other brands, but these feel great to me.

Thanks! I've always been a plug in and play style player, I don't use any effects or pedals. Small, vintage amps generally is what I prefer.

Also, sounds funny to ask, but what stomp board are you using? It sounds just like John Lee Hookers foot! 😊
@markmumea
@markmumea Ай бұрын
I'm using a custom stomp board that I made with a cheap stick on type transducer mic attached, just looking for something to pick up the sound of my feet and it works fine and is easy to use.

Funny that you and Johnny Burgin both covered this song today 😁 I learned a ton from you guys, my favourite instructors, thanks a lot for all the content!
@markmumea
@markmumea Ай бұрын
Thank you! Burgin is both a great player and a superb teacher, extremely knowledgeable of many blues idioms, no doubt. This is an underappreciated LW song with a great feel, and a beautiful example of Robert Jr. Lockwood's use of blending pretty chords and signature single note lines in a way that can be extracted and used as a template of sorts for how to support the harp and vocals. I typically lean towards earlier styles, but this one has always been a favorite, still has an element that sounds stripped down, less polished, raw and honest. I appreciate your FB and checking out the channel!
