Chris, I’ve started watching your videos and have a question for you. I recently started using the Daily Benedictine Prayer and have noticed on a couple of times that the number of antiphons say in the Proper of Seasons don’t always line up with the number of Psalms in the Weekly Psalter. An example, Vigils for today, Monday of the 3rd week of Lent. There are only 6 antiphons in the Proper of Seasons, but 8 Psalms (split between Nocturne 1 and 2) in the Week 1 and 3 Psalter. Any advice on how to handle this or maybe I’m missing something. Thanks!

Right! The community has offered a few different suggestions, and it's clear that it's a "find something that works for you" approach. What I do is just treat the third and fourth psalms of the nocturn as though they were one psalm, so I will say the third antiphon, then pray both psalms (with the Glory to the Father... after each of them) and then repeat the third antiphon after the end of the last psalm. I do the same thing with the second nocturn. I hope that makes sense!

I have been using this Breviary for some time here in the UK, initially edition 1 as suggested by Br Martin of St Gregory's abbey. More recently edition 2. I have to say that my practice has often been erratic & sometimes a little chaotic. So thanks very much for your useful guidance & advice. I do think the earlier edition was a much nicer volume in the hand. Thanks

Thank you. I have tried numerous times in the past two decades to commit myself to praying the LOH. Your tutorials have helped me finally break through to understanding and grasping how to navigate the Breviary. Very grateful!

Hi, Chris! I was ordained to the Diaconate and Priesthood by Bp. Stevens in FdL! I'm a member of Christ Mission OSB, and we use BDP. Great intro. Will recommend it highly to beginners/those who are starting to use BDP. God bless!

I'm using the 2nd edition which has more Psalms for each day at Vigils. I do have the 1st adition.

Excellent. These videos are made with the 2nd edition, but the basic structure of the book should apply to both editions.
