Hi there! Yes, I definitely recommend using a calculator for this question! It will save you time and you will still get full marks, just remember to show what you typed, as shown in the video! Best to use a Casio scientific calculator, either Casio fx-85GTX or Casio FX-83GT-X, please ask your teacher if you are unsure which one! Hope that helps

Don't worry, just read the questions carefully a couple of times before you answer, skip any you are unsure of (but come back to them at the end if you have time!), you will do fine (inshallah!)

Hi there! Many thanks for your message! For Area and Perimeter, I recommend reading the question a few times before answering, always underline key words and make sure you understand what the question is talking about before you answer. Then look for clues in the question, is it Area or Perimeter? Most likely it won't be both! And lastly make sure you know the formulas of how to work out Area or Perimeter of many different shapes, including compound shapes which are usually two shapes stuck together! Hope that helps 😊

For this question, i believe you have used the ÷ sign which is why you are getting a different wrong answer. I recommend using the fraction button on a scientific calculator.

Hi there, you can do 2500 x (1 + 1.7 ÷ 100)^3 You will need to use the power button or in this case, you can used the cubed button which is on the casio scientific calculator. Which calculator do you have?

Great work! I was looking for this specific paper! Just Questions 11 ask for the maximum days and we use smaller fraction to get more days. However can we take the average because too small and too big both are not fair. I know the question asking for the maximum days so we must use smaller fraction but I think it will make more sense if we add both fraction then divide by 2 to get average!

Hi Yahya! Thanks for your comment and glad you found the video useful! I see what you mean but we can't use average in this case because it wouldn't give us the maximum number of days, the only way is by dividing by the smallest amount! Hope that makes sense 😊

Please note, for Q11 on Sec B, your answers would depend on whether your paper has shrunk/enlarged due to printing the paper incorrectly! When you print the paper, make sure you choose the "Actual Size" in your printer settings, otherwise your measurements would be different to mine and therefore the answers would be different! 😊

Hi Sunita, no in this example, you would need to use just 5 for R, which is the rate... It is already being divided by 100 when you use the whole formula. Hope that helps!

Hi there! You have to change the mins to hours first because you want miles per hour, not miles per minute, so you have to divide by 60... this is why I did 22/60 hours and I left it like this (or you can change this to a decimal which is 0.366666... hours). I left it as a fraction because it is more accurate than the recurring decimal. So now to work out the speed, you have to do distance divide by time, 19 divide by 22/60 (or 0.36666666....) should = 51.81 on your calculator and this would be miles per hour! Hope that makes sense!

I have just completed both Section A & B for Maths Level 1 paper exam. it went really well for me and read the questions twice. but there was question i struggled which it was asking ( two square was 55m all the way round the football pitch, i am not too sure if it was the perimeter? Ah yes! It depends on your printed paper, usually when you print past papers at home, it shrinks slightly compared to the original! So your answer is still correct based on your measurements! Hope that helps 😊
