That what they have learned is "the only" truth, and anything else is hogwash so they will not even take the time to listen to new ideas. Given the fact Doctor's are not "healers", but tend to only treat the "symptoms" of disease rather than cure it this level of arrogance is full of human ignorance. Scientists on the other hand do better work, and generally honest with their findings.
