Good for you!!!! The old machines will last forever if you keep them clean, oil them, and please use good thread. The cheap stuff is twisted from short leftover fibers and just shreds itself into your machine.

Does the needle disengage when winding the bobbin? Mine did until it came back from the repair shop. And im just not sure what is going on. Any advice?

Yes, the needle should disengage when you open the cover to the bobbin winder. There is probably a trigger in there somewhere that isn't engaging. As long as nothing is threaded it won't hurt to have the needle run while the bobbin is winding, but it is a pain to unthread then rethread the whole thing.

Spoolholder, thread coming off back. looper, thread guide, tension disc (either side, floss it), in and down, guide to needle, presser foot down, thread needle front to back.

Most of the time, yes. But that is because I'm close to the webcam and not looking away. If I'm more than arm's length or looking in different directions then I use a mic.

You showed very little. In fact, that lint goes way deeper than the bobbin assembly. Use tweezers, then vacuum, then blow it out. Blow out whole base, as lint hides in the middle. You never showed us how too oil this either. Misleading title.

Thanks for the video, very helpful! FYI - On my wife's older Bernina 717, the part @2:07 is clearly not supposed to have the thread behind it, but in front. In fact, on the 717, you can't get the thread behind it, and it is used as a curved, smooth surface for the thread to ride over.

There is a lot of information on here concerning these machines, but I have a problem. My needle thread is wrapping itself around the bobbin holder and the whole thing is jamming up and I cannot find how to correct this any help please
