You slip away into the black and silky night i watch you go cause i know i could never change your mind But now you're so far away i can't just reach out reel you in cross Baton Rouge baby, there is no time in us now But there's fire in the wire long ways lover won't you call me and tell me that you love me out loud Fire in the wire won't you call me and tell me everything's gonna work out long ways... But you thought you had lost your touch but baby, you can't look back you've got to keep your hands on the dream or put it back on the rack, yeah Oh but i knew, this would be hard this long stretch in between to open up your pocket find that there's nothing nothing in there green But there's fire in the wire long ways lover won't you call me and tell me that you love me out loud Fire in the wire won't you call me and tell me everything's gonna work out Know there's nothing i can say to you baby 'cause i know you're leaving me anyway, anyway, but i'm holding on i'm holding on 'cause there's fire in the wire long ways lover won't you call me and tell me that you love me out loud Fire in the wire won't you call me and tell me everything's gonna work out for you and me.

Ten p.m., you're late again she must have been at sight Don't tell me I'm wrong, I know I'm right Your son's in bed, I must have read that story twenty times And now you're telling me a story that I must admit is twice as boring as the one you told me yesterday, and yet I know the way a man like you can get I almost want to leave you but I think I might believe you, if you Tell me that you're sorry Tell me that you're sorry I'm not some silly schoolgirl you just got done making love to Don't tell me that you love me Don't tell me that you need me Tell me you're sorry Careless is the way you treat my mind, my soul, my heart Plain and pretty ¿isn't very smart? Words so wise, apologizing for neglecting time But I know what you are doing and the contract you're pursuing and although she's not important when it comes to you and me, turn your back on her for once and see One more push and this one shoves you Face the one who loves you and then Tell me that you're sorry Tell me that you're sorry I'm not some silly schoolgirl you just got done making love to Don't tell me that you love me Don't tell me that you need me Tell me you're sorry.

Don't you know So many things they come and go Like your words that once rang true Just like the love I thought I found in you And I remember the thunder Talkin' about that fire in your eyes But you walked away when I needed you most And maybe baby maybe baby I found someone to take away the heartache To take away the loneliness I've been feeling since you've been gone Since you've been gone Dry your eyes I never could bear to see you cry Someday your love will shine through And show you the feelings you never really knew Baby don't you lose that thunder Talkin' about that fire in your eyes You're looking at me but you still don't believe And maybe baby maybe baby I found someone to take away the heartache To take away the loneliness I've been livin' with since you've been gone Since you've been gone Too long on the border line Wonderin' if your love was really mine But you left me with open eyes And now I realize I found someone to take away the heartache To take away the loneliness I've been feeling since you've been gone I found someone to take away the heartache To take away the loneliness I've been livin' with since you've been gone Since you've been gone Since you've been gone

John Spinks (RIP) was probably one of the most underrated guitar players of the 1980s. While “Your Love” was their most popular song, this jam several years later was their masterpiece.

Walking down the leafy lanes where we used to go Remembering the kisses and the love we used to know I can hear the music drifting all across the years Memories of laughter and of tears I'm walking now inside the house and every room is dark Memories of nights of love are tearing me apart See the brambles creeping down the broken window pane There's nothing left but ashes in the rain I wanted to find you here I wanted to feel you near What is that sound I hear? I can hear your voice in the house of silence All of the ghosts are crying I can see your face in the house of darkness There where the ravens fly I can hear your voice in the house of silence I can hear the echo dying I can hear your last goodbye I remember nights of celebration, summer days so fair The cruel wind is blowing memories, everywhere All the clocks have stopped at midnight they've never moved at all since the cold dark night when you walked out the door.

This is the first time I have heard this beautiful song sung by Benjamin Orr and I’m so happy that it popped up when I accessed KZbin today. I assume this is one of his and John K.’s creations for the second solo album that never materialized. 😢 Big mistake by the big shots in L.A. who turned Ben down. Thanks to those of you who have provided these lost songs to the rest of us. ❤
