Yes, I was stuck in 1 once, where everyone took the hackers when they popped up... it was super funny. Everyone spammed crawlers to get around the hackers and then Vulcans to get around the crawlers, eventually it was just Vulcan hot potato. Pretty funny stuff.

They didn't take down the Facebook profiles of certain middle east bad guy groups for so many years, so why would Hydra cult have to worry about recruiting secretly lol. Good news for the heroes since Facebook is probably easy enough for them to get into and track down individual members if they wanted to.

Yea, we are also now proper into spring, so now we battle snails, caterpillars, random bugs and silk moth worms. Or also as they a lovingly referred to as burn worms. As you can imagine, because they burn... hahaha. We actually ran into a crazy thing, so my wife has a few chilly plants and the birds are now stealing the chillies just as they ripen... It's super funny but also annoying. Hahaha

Imagine being a plant that evolves a burning chemical for your fruit to stop anything eating it, only for humans and some birds to say "My mouth is on fire, this is great!" Didn't quite work out as intended. We do get birds visiting our garden, but they normally just eat things from the lawn. We cut our hair at home and leave it outside, so we have some Australian Ravens that show up every year and collect hair for their nests. There must be several generations of Ravens that grew up with nests lined with our hair.

Hahaha... the same with grass. Evolving to release a stench when damaged to deter animals from destroying it and then humans come along, cut it and go... "mmm, love the smell of freshly cut grass". Hahahaha. That is rather fascinating actually, that the ravens would take the hair for nests. But it does make sense, would keep those nests warm. Very cool.

I find that Freyr struggles in god powers a bit. The "turn them into piggies" hit me hard in the first battle. But yes, going for boats to seem to be a good investment. @@PshycGamingChannel Yeah, there is a difference in power levels at that point. When it comes to people who are just wearing suits though, guns with modern AP ammo should do a lot better. Especially if you bring kit heavier than 7.62 NATO standard. RIP Ironman if some of the Hydra guys have anything rated against light vehicles. But I guess hydra budget does not extend that far, they prefer cutting costs to save up for super weapons or something.

Yip, it is interesting how quickly your game can be turned on it's head. And if it happens in the alter rounds, you can take game ending damage from just 1 big-ish round loss. It is not possible to see what your opponent will do, but if you can see what you are weak against on the board, you could try to predict what they might do. But yes, it can get quite volatile in the later rounds.

I believe that 50% of the fun of playing games is figuring everything out, the learning process is. I have issues with the "get easy wins" approach, it may work for a little while, but it is a quick fix that gets you a couple of wins, but then it falls flat, because if we do not understand the why behind this, we cannot adjust and pivot when the games get harder and the opponents get better. Ive spammed the same three units over and over. Mostly in 4 player brawl as thats the only game mode that matters. The rest are for the kids that were gate kept from magic. If you dont just cheese and be the kind of player no one wants to play against. Your "army" should be well rounded enough to handle most threats and have some kind of surprising twist by the end of the match. KZbinrs really killed games by trying to make up some meta so they can beg on the internet for views.

Get what is good and win, or die being the good guy. I actually truly agree with you on this one. Every second video now a days is about build orders or which units to spam, and to be fair they get a lot of views... all the views in fact. Which is not great, as most people then forget to actually learn the game and miss out on a lot of the experience. It is true that 4 player brawl is spam city, but I love it.

Yes, the Hydras grow stronger the more damage they do. They can go up to 5 heads. Which makes them a menace to deal with. They damage output gets really high and with regeneration, you can throw them into battle time and time again. So, when I see them, I always try to snipe them out of the army, otherwise they can get out of control.

@@VainerCactus0 Exactly, when the hydras have 1 head, they are a tank that can regenerate. When they have 5 heads, they are regenerating tanks with a lot of damage output... lol. Best to get them early.

We can only wait and see. I know that it was one of the most hated expansions of it's era. But I do not think I will be too far form what has been. Just updated. If they know all the reasons why people hated the expansion, it makes it easy to just avoid the same traps. Time will tell.

@@PshycGamingChannel We, as in the community, have told them dozens of reasons why the DLC sucked, with seemingly everyone emphasizing different parts of said list of issues, from the reused assets, poor campaign, lack of gameplay identity, poor balance, use of gunpowder weapons, all the way to the poorly researched and butchered mythology. What we all unanimously told them is to either remake the Chinese from scratch, going back to the drawing board, and start over from the very beginning, or leave them out completely. The community was very clear and unanimous about rather having no content than getting Tale of the Dragon again.

Earliest records of the pre-stages of gunpowder was 142 AD which actually predate the famous wave of 700ad viking raids which inspired The Norse, though definte gun powder is only recorded in the 9th century, which is about as far between the Norse and Ancient Egypt depending on your 'start date'. China should totally get gunpowder! Maybe as a mythic age only unit though.

@@dragonkingofthestars Personally, I agree with you, and Chinese gunpowder weapons did exist in the 6th century (I think) making an appearance in Disneys Mulan. So, I personally don't see them as out of place. But many people see them as too modern, and also they feel like gunpowder weapons would be too weak if balanced to match with the spears and shields the rest of the game has, and super OP if given stats proportional to how strong they would realistically be, not realizing that early gunpowder weapons weren't the powerful cannons and guns we have today. I attribute it to what's called the Tiffany Effect. Stuff that did exist historically in the time period and region subjectively feels too modern to fit, and thus breaks immersion, because of our popcultural understanding of the time period. It's named the Tiffany Effect because we think of the name Tiffany as a very modern name, with a character in a book being named that set before the 1940s seem odd. But the name has been in use since the middle ages, predating full plate armor.

Initially I think it is random, but it ramps up over time. Then from round 6 (I think) it drops a large army for the player that is ahead and everyone else get two sledge hammer tanks to fight. So sometimes you are lucky and sometimes you are not... hahaha.

Very true man, yea... Vision is super important in RTS games. It gives you map control, which means you can move out and use the space between you and your opponent. It also shows you what they are doing, which means you can either punish greedy (fast expand or early age up) plays or at least know when a massive attack is coming. They more you can see, the better you can counter.

@@PshycGamingChannel What is the difference between fast expand and early age up? I thought expanding and ageing up were the same thing.

Ok, so across the map there are these settlements. You have to build a town centre structure on them to claim them. Once you have built a town centre on them, they can also produce workers. So, if you take an early expand, that means that you have tried to build a quick extra town centre so that you can get more workers that your opponent. An early age up mean that they have upgraded their the main town centre to a higher level early in the game. So you do not build army, but rather use the resources to age up early, going from 2nd to 3rd age. Unlocking new units and god powers. Both of these are legit strategies, but in order to do them, you are spending your resources on either building an extra town centre or by unlocking new units and powers. If you do any of these and your opponent is a passive player, it will help you greatly as you will either have more workers, so much better economy, or you will have access to stronger army units and god powers. If your opponent spots this and pushes with his army, which should be much stronger as they punched their resources into army and not expanding or aging, then they can punish you for your greed.

I prefer a balanced approach, build a decent army early and see what the opponent does, if he also builds a decent army, then we should be expanding or aging up roughly the same time and no one benefits. But if they are rushing economy, then I can punish them by attacking and killing workers or just straight up winning. So, yea... a balanced approach does mean that I need good scouting... You cannot punish what you cannot see, which is why I try to keep my army active on the map and scout when I can.

Yes, I think it is intended as a "catch up" mechanic. Essentially helping players that fell behind early to also have a chance at a come back. Yes, the experimental units are purely for the A.I to use and for us to try and kill. They are crazy though...

So the Axe guys are a generalist unit. They are good against other infantry in general. You see, Egyptians do not have access to early cavalry, so the AXE wielding Egyptian bros are mostly just a good general unit. Heroes are typically very good against myth units, but otherwise are pretty close to normal units. So the Axe bros did a good job against the infantry and the cavalry. The Atlantean cavalry is good against ranged units, which we did not really build with the exception of the priests. Was just a decent composition to take on what my opponent had. We have not started the ranked matches again... I still need to pick a race I will specialize in. Without specializing, we will struggle as you have to really know that race very well.

@@PshycGamingChannel Ahh, that makes sense. If heroes are expensive but present a good opportunity for a cost effective fight like that you have to take it! I thought i had heard you say a few episodes ago you were doing ranked matches now, I guess I totally imagined it lol. I'M LOSING IT!
