George is a rocker in the blues tradition. He was hugely influenced by artists such as Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, and Bo Diddley (who appeared in his video with his now classic Box Guitar.) Lonesome George, as he was known, was originally from Delaware (small state just south of the Mason Dixon line). The Destroyers (originally the Delaware Destroyers) were his back up band. George is still rocking in stage and is in his 70s now. Awesome down to earth guy snd and a real hoot live. And yeah back in the day his concerts were known for copious amounts of substances both legal and illegal being passed around. Lol
