Thanks for the short and crisp tutorial, love it! ❤ Which Version of UE and the Plugin were you using? I tried a few weeks ago to export the G9 base character from DAZ 4.22 to UE 5.4.1, but UE was crashing at the end of the import process.😢

The problem with this daz to ue method used to be how hard it was to set up animations and rigs. Does the new auto retarget system fix this? I send my daz characters to maya first and fix everything up there, so I haven't tested it.

Amazing tutorial as always. Seen the comments below about using daz characters in unreal and cannot wait for that tutorial. The daz to unreal skin is just terrible. Been hunting high and low for tutorials on improving the skin textures in unreal engine.

The age of easy character creation is upon us. Soon these companies will be competing with who can be more free and more accessible. This is absolutely crazy how in this market. Or whatever you would call it, we're basically being given years worth of work on a silver platter for free with nothing promised. In what other industry does this happen??

Daz to unreal plugin has been around for five or six years. There's more to making the characters work than just importing them, especially if you want believable bending and 'physics'.

I totally agree with this. Art has always been about sharing etc. a very different mindset from the filthy suite way of thinking. There still many suites destroying things but generally it works different to other money fed business :) epic has do e a lot to pioneer this:) make a ton of money by giving. What a crazy concept :)

I really hope that they eventually figure out an easier way to make the Daz characters look as good as they do in Daz inside of Unreal Engine. I've seen some guys post pictures of what they were able to achieve, and it's like this mega long process that requires a few different softwares. But the results are almost as good as Metahuman.

What i want to do is to play the animation in front of a camera, the metahuman shall move like that, i got an amimation from that, i can change it with the control rig and get a sick animation, i can blend in with others. I found one program that works really good. (i followed this turtorial kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJ2wlWCChqyJr6s) The cool thing is, the camara signal is reduced and so the animation is much cleaner. I hate it when the char is bugging arround, that doesnt happend here. The only problem, I cant transporte it to my meta human, because, that third program that shall transport the signal to UE5 just doesnt work (not on UE5.03 and on newer) ^^ i spend 8h yesterday ^^

@@snap-n-shoot Ah interesting. Is the groom in the scene though? The nodes in UE? If you see it but its not showing then Im not to sure. But if there no groom nodes on your model then maybe its not importing the groom. Honestly I would try re importing. Or a different model to see. If its the same then something is wrong with your MH in unreal. Delete MH and try reinstall it.

Ha yeah man. These are pretty high res ones. Using them sparingly or low res ones for the BG etc. I guess you just gotta be careful and optimize them as needed:) They can get massive if your not careful:)

Depends. Be sure but a desktop? Desktop is fine. Can be a bit expensive but they are getting more and more compressed and more feasible to use and we seeing them more and more in games today.

Hey:) I take it your animation is in a sequencer ? Right click the animation and you will see options. There is one saying stay in place or hold last frame or something like that :) that’s probably the one your after :) hope that helps

Yeah you don’t have to join it. Just use a sequencer for your animations then you can get more options to control them from there

can i keep the rig tho i want to keep it so i can fix things and better move eyes manually , maybe frozing the animation and mute then unmute rig? also the body wasnt following how to fix that pls ?

Sure you can mute it or even save it out to reattach later, or bake animation to the rig. In 5.4 you can use both at the same time :) I’ll do a tutorial on it :) but you can save the rig and keep adding to it. Attach it when you need etc. it’s very versatile.

can u use ue4 or 5 mannequin animations on uefn mannequin? that came out with the project? also have u ever animated in blender ? i have a huge issue here, in blender when u use rotation u an rotate any angle, in unreal it is axes by axes that feels weird

Hey mate :) yes you can use any animations on any other rig. You just need to retarget them. I got tutorials on both but ue 5.4 is a breeze. Check out my build this now series first vid. As far as blender and ue go. The rotation. In ue 5.4 you can set that gizmo to work like blender or Maya. Forgot what it’s called but look up gizmo for animation settings in ue 5.4 . I’ll do a quick tutorial on this but you can find it fast:) hope this helps :)

Than you for this video, i have always been scared of going into animation in unreal because of the interface. i would like to ask if in blender, my workflow is pose to pose animation ( Blocking) before moving to spline. is there a way to do that in unreal engine

Dear friend, how to completely remove a metahuman from the Content Drawer - there were some manipulations to customize the metahuman, now when loading any metahuman it gives errors

Metahuman installs a lot of files. If you have deleted some then it’s going to be corrupt. Best bet is to try import a new human and it should add all the files back. If not then delete unreal and reinstall it from scratch I guess

The perfect weird host to introduce the new, just-plain-weird 3D character software, perfectly positioned to fill a weirdly non-existent gap! EDIT: Seriously, in a world of *DAZ Gen-9* and *Reallusion Character Creator* this is not an especially useful product. Maybe if it were $29.95... I'm not clear: Are they going to make the bodies customizable, or is it intended strictly to be Avatar?

Ha :) what’s up mate :) yeah it’s very different to the beta. I’m not to sure what gap this fills in all honesty . Not with the current release anyway. Beta had a lot more. Seems to have all been stripped which is very disappointing. I like to give the be of it of the doubt. Let’s give it time and see where it goes but for now . It doesn’t really fit any gap

It is still promising, but the release is very rushed. They cut out a lot if you compare to demo. Exporter now feels more buggy (you have this neck issue, mesh is triangulated, blender wont pick it up at all), the issue with texture maps (demo was able to export very hires maps, whatever we have now barely workable). Also their "AI" functionality, in demo prompt was exposed so it was much easier to control (even though I'm not entirely sure if it was doing anything). Also their website is a mess, and overall it feels very amateur. I really hope they will be able to turn things around, otherwise it's kinda almost feels like scam.

Yeah the beta felt pretty amazing but this version seems massively stripped back. Feels like a NPC maker right now. Cant export the hair groom and many other things not working or there. For me personally this needs a major update as I cant really find a use for it as of yet besides a fun toy for now:)

Character creator is great but damn you need a ton of things to have full control. Its so irritating as it feels so hard to figure out everything you need. Feels like its on purpose to be honest. Its a cool tool though. Daz can also get expensive. This reblium is no where near what these other two can do but its cheap. Lacks alot of features though. Well enjoy CC. Its a pretty sweet tool. Be wise with what you purchase for it though.

Yeah was a preorder price. But in all honesty It lacks alot of features right now. It needs time to mature a bit. I think CC what you chose is a good option for now. Daz is even better but you really need to know what to buy before getting into Daz as it can cost you a fortune. I have a get into Daz starter be clever vid if you ever decide getting into Daz.

Mud and dirt are textures with a mask to a image those to. Let me think about this:) sounds like fun but may take a while if I make this vid :) thanks for the suggestions mate :)

Different uv,s so you can use other skins but not easily at all. More effort then it’s worth. Clothes yea you can use metatailor or blender to add any clothes to any of these character :) ari is in the corner the wee bastert

If the death mask girl is representative of an igc/npc I'm more worried about what op thinks good is. Over here thinking that's Netflix's love death robots level character detail versus the barely animated stamps you get in games like rimworld for pawns. But then they showed the same character and like yeah the op might be right.

This is very nice and powerful, but like all of the generators, it will ultimately suffer from what MH and Character Creator and that is the Dollbaby Syndrome. Where over time all of the models you generated will start looking the same.

Hello mate. Yeah for sure but I think those that use these kinda things as bases and take them to next levels using zbrush, blender etc and then add their own textures etc can break that mold. Just depends on how far your willing to take it:) for the most part people will just make what’s there giving it that same kinda look feel:) have a good weekend :) thanks for the message :)

thats interesting...im wondering, have you dabbled with headshot 2 or mesh to metahuman? do you know which one is better for higher fidelity mesh that can be exported to blender?

Hello mate. Yeah I got headshot 2. Meh . Mesh to metahuman I have a few tutorials on. Its not perfect but it creates really nice characters. MH has the most detail and res for sure:) Its really good for Blender:)
