Great looking panel, James. I was wondering why you could not that with an audio mixer, but then again maybe I don't see what components you will be hooking-up. I wish you all the best and look forward to more videos. 73

Good question! A mixer allows multiple inputs to be mixed. Im using one input my Shure SM7B microphone to be equalized, compression, downward expanded with various noise gates. Then sent to multiple radios. I hope this helps

I had a 35 ft high 1000 ft horizonal loop at my QTH in Maui on the beach. It worked very well for 1.8 to 7.0 MHz operation and easy tuned with 450 ohm feedline. Ive long been a fan of the antenna.

Good info. Thanks for making the video. If I may, I’d suggest way fewer zoomed in shots without some sort of camera stabilizer (gimbal, etc.).

I@@KA4UPWI had a Cushcraft 26B2. It performed well but got out of the hobby and sold it years ago. I just assembled a M2 2M9X. Tested great on my test pole.

You could also lower the bandwidth, focus it more on the signal so you get less noise and you wont get the other strong signals into the record, those two spikes above the main signal you are recording too. In both SDR++ and SDR sharp you can just drag the outer line of the bandwidth closer to the signal, or write the specific bandwidth into the options.

If you read the rules for using the repeater you are only supported to make one contact per a pass. Give everyone a chance to operate. TlO is always there along with John the Jammer.

No need for those fancy stand-off brackets tbh. If you simply ty-rap the coax to the lower boom (which must be the braid side) then it will work perfectly with super flat SWR on all bands.

Working the ISS has become a bit of a joke lately. Lots of high watt radios, with sat pack antennas walking on each other and drowning out the little guys. People whistling and tying up the repeater. Makes it hard to work with a 5 watt HT and a homemade yagi antenna. I would rather work SO50 or other quieter satellites.
@KA4UPW Жыл бұрын
Your so right.
@aarongriffin81 Жыл бұрын
I am just getting into the sat hobby and use HTs and homemade yagi and I fail to get through on the ISS. I can work Tevels pretty well but I have terrible desensing on all the others. I made a high pass filter for my 70cm and a LP filter for the 2m and it just barely helped. I still only hear static when I talk on SO-50 but people reply back with my full call-sign. I'm frustrated.
