I have a FZ-07. It’s a bulletproof studio fun street bike. But all it can handle is the occasional dirt road. I have a YZ250. It’s a bulletproof off-road weapon that is unstoppable. There’s nothing it cannot go over or through or under. Insane power. Amazing suspension. Ridiculously reliable. But 5 minutes on the street and you feel so out of place. The TW200 blends the two very well. It’s not the best street bike. It’s not even a good dirt bike. But it does both and it’s perhaps the most reliable bike you could own. WR250 mops the street with all the bikes I just listed though. WR >

Have you replaced a clutch in one of these little lt2 100s? I would like to have a little feedback on that. I've never done it before in one of these

I also have a 75 dt175 that is in mint condition that I acquired and the bottom end was froze up and did. I think I'll buy just a new used motor and put in it. Something to rebuild but the bike is in excellent shape. I can't see getting rid of it because it is in such good shape

I just acquired a 7 73 dt100 is exactly what you have green and everything has been sitting for 6 years. Took very little to get it going again and I'm 55 years old and I enjoy riding it around the house and through the fields and stuff I missed out on it when when I was young worse than 7 3. I wasn't old enough to ride a bike but I love this little bike and I'm 55 years old. A full grown man. And anyway I just thought it was neat. I was thinking about the bike the other day and then all of a sudden I come across this on on here. Anyway, just want to say it's nice. Nice video thank you

In 2019, I bought a rich lady's 06 Ninja 250R with 497 miles, for $900. She spilled it once, but it's barely noticeable. A few scratches. She parked it in 09. Still has old yellow gas in the tank, which I finally got the tank opened in 2021. I've still never started it. I had it legalized and shipped to my house in Mexico in 2020, for another $1100, sitting in my garage collecting dust. Still haven't started it yet. Gonna do a blog about getting it on the road. Would've done it, but since 2021, I had covid 6 times and then an H Pylori stomach infection in May, June, and July. I almost died on June 20th. So... its time. Gotta do it. A 60 year old riding a Ninja... what a sight! 🏍🤣👍

@whyluvkeyzy I started a channel for the Ninja project, but I've been sick, so I did nothing. KawNinjaRides .. In the video I put there, I had covid and was very sick. Could barely stand up. Just putting it off until I feel good enough to actually ride.

I had that same model in the same color. I bought a 1975 DT175 E in 1977, but was too young to drive it legally, as I was under the age of 16, so I had to go find a 100 cc bike, and, this was the one that I found. I let my older brother take the 175 to college for a few years, until I could take Drivers Education at 16 in order to remove the 100 cc Restriction on my Drivers License. Lots of fun with both bikes.

I've been looking for a bike, I really want a KTM EXC-W 2 Stroke but let's face it the pricetag is high. I just found a 2007 xt 225 with 4700 miles for around three grand so I immediately searched, found this video and am rethinking my choice. I need a dual sport, rather have a tbi 2 Stroke but I am liking this bike especially what you get for the money.... Hmmmmm

As far as I can tell, the Kawasaki KL 250 Super Sherpa was the closest (superior) competitor to the XT225. The KL 250 has 26cc more with lower compression (9.3 vs 9.5), is 6.7 lb heavier, 0.7" taller seat, 0.6" lower ground clearance, 10 more hp (30 hp vs 20 hp), rear disc vs drum. The KL250 is arguably the better bike with no other near competitor for shorter riders, BUT, the XT225 wheelies easier! I did a spread sheet comparison when the XT250 FI 5 spd came out and I kept the XT225 by a comfortable margin, not even factoring the higher price of the XT250. My favorite lightweight DP bikes are the KL250, XT225, and TW200. My dream build is still the TW225 6 spd conversion/upgrade.

Hey boss, in regards to your spring shortening I'm 238 pounds without gear. What is the max? I could cut off the spraying and add to the spacer to stiff it up as much as possible I do not wanna invest a bunch of money into it I'm just trying to get used to riding and I got the bike cheap.

I fkin hate that all these companies don't realize the vast majority of riders aren't ever going to hit big air over gaps and with the average male height bring 5'9 what is really needed is the ability to dab thru off camber single track with both feet to avoid tipping over. There's absolutely zero reason they can't make a bike with an xt seat height but with 400+cc

I started on a friends tw200. It was fun but when i purchased my own bike i wanted better suspension and more power. Low maintenance, reliability and parts availabilit and i wanted a low seat height being 5"6 maximum with a 29-30in inseam.. i considerd the xt but the power wasnt quite where i wanted to be. I considered a klx300 but they were a little on the expensive side. Ultimately ive ended up on a 2002 drz400. 9,800 miles. All the typical modifications already done for $2,900. I did have to order handguards and the seatconcpts seat. I can only tippy toe or 1 foot it.. the height of the bike has me a little worried for trails being im used to the little tw. Anyway if i bike such as you described existed i think i would have been a buyer

Four years ago I tragically lost my younger brother, just months away from his 50th birthday. His first wheels was a '80 DT175 red tank. We were on a farm, so we did a lot of off road riding on it. Now I found a bike just like he had and I'm working on putting it back to original and getting it going again. The guy I got it from was 73 years old! These old bikes sure do bring back lots of happy memories that's for sure.

I am skeptical of your assessment that some pressure from a kinked hose caused or contributed to valve cover o-rings. You do note later on that failed o-rings is a known issue. I would not even call it an “issue,” but rather that people put so few miles on these often a valve adjustment and new o-rings have not been done in close to 20 years. So, yeah, the o-rings flatten and oil starts to leak. Both of my 2005 xt225 had these leaks from covers. I also don’t see how pinched hose would contribute to oil leakage.
