Me neither 🤣 I tried everything from panniers to extra thick wind protection, but everything has some caveat, mostly sound quality. So I went with post audio editing. I try to filter out as much wind and chain noise with an equalizer as possible without losing or manipulating the actual exhaust sound. If you listen to the video with hifi headphones, you'll hear there's still some wind in there 😅

UK BYERS BEWARE! I purchased a set of the new 'expedition saddlebags' at a cost of £339. I was hit with a customs charge of£ 107!! (This is not trip machine's fault - BUT SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF). The bags arrived 'imperfect' and also would not fit my bike (fitment not trip machine's fault). No problem- I'm entitled to a return and refund. NO! TRIP MACHINE FEFUSED TO REFUND ME! Tried to fob me off with a replacement (which I did not want). Stated (as in their returns policy) that I would have to pay for the return postage - fair enough I thought. Problem is......return postage to India (parcel force price) is £200!! (Hard to believe, but true!) Trip machine were NOT HELPFUL AT ALL and I would NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. BEWARE - the chance of a refund is practically zero and the price of return postage makes it totally impractical.

It's pathological 😅 Every bridge or tunnel I have to do that. The mics don't pick up the reverb it creates, but I hear it and giggle like a little kid every time 🤣

I use this engine sound as a nighty-night lullaby. I’m not kidding! If you’re like me and already miss your two-wheeled buddy with winter coming, this is a pretty good soundtrack to go to sleep with.

I mean, this exhaust note is absolutely sublime. In this day and age, it's kind of surprising to see a manufacturer making sure the bike sounds good. :)

@@jaybou007 it's the stock exhaust without any modifications. Kawasaki overhauled the exhaust with the 2019 models and this is the result. Earlier models are really quiet and only sound good with an aftermarket exhaust imo, but models from 2019 onward sound really good with the stock exhaust 👍

Oh okay 😊 I don't really notice the bevel sound while riding. Maybe they changed that with the 2020 version too? Or the changed exhaust sound tunes out the bevel sound? When riding, the only things I hear are the wind and the exhaust 😅

Kawasaki W800 is the best, isn't it My Meguro K3 is exactly the same as the W800, so it has a normal muffler but it sounds good.I also use zoom for sound recording.Thank you

This is another sound as the older w 800? I think the first w800 2011 models sounds boring. Or is it wrong?

Yes, it is 😊 Starting with the 2019 models, Kawasaki revised the exhaust sound and did a very good job! Earlier models are very quiet and definitely need an aftermarket exhaust to (legally) sound good 🤣

The front end over bunps, looks as though it could be punishing on the wrists.

There's no weight on the wrists due to the upright sitting position on the bike. So your hands basically just hang off the handlebar. The suspension is also quite soft so there's no real impact on the hands and wrists to deal with 😊

Nope, that's the chain. You can only hear it on the recording due to the positioning of the shotgun mics and no proper eq on the track in these early recordings. I've since been able to find eq settings that reduce the chain and brake caliper sounds 🙂

It's nice, but after-sales support sucks. They didn't send all the information to customs, so I had to pay a lot of tax and extra cost to DHL, plus the bag came with a defect and if I return it I will lose the tax and the DHL + I've to pay the shipping bag. I asked for some compensation and they just played stupid giving evasive replies. I don't recommend it to anyone. They are not a serious company

Can't really say that's the experience I've had. The products I've received were top notch 99% of the time. Though communication can take a while, I've received replacement parts free of charge (only needed once though). Customs and shipping, when handled by DHL, can sometimes be to high because DHL uses the wrong values (for example shipping fee) to calculate customs. But that can usually be objected afterward and customs will return what was payed too much. Your order having a defect is of course not good, that should have been caught by QA. However when ordering from a company outside of your own country/economic zone, customs is almost always going to be your loss, not sure why TM should be at fault 😕 With you though, that in case of returning a defective product, shipping should be covered.

Hallo Fred, endlich mal keinen Heitzer zu sehen, sondern deine Ausflugsfahrten mit deiner Kawasaki W800 mit zugenießen. Dein Video gibt für mich als überlegter Wiedereinsteiger nach langem Zögern den entscheidenden Impuls mich nun doch für dieses schöne Mortorrad zu entscheiden und auf die Straße zu wagen. Mit 189 Körpergröße dürfte das wohl noch mit dem Beinschluss gehen. Grüße Achim Danke für deinen besonnenen Fahrstil, der auch zu didsem Motrrad passt.

Freut mich, dass die Videos (und mein Fahrstil) gefallen 🙂 Ich bin 1.93 und passe noch gut auf die W800, wobei ich auf meiner Classic tatsächlich aufrechter sitze und die Beine entspannter sind. Der Unterschied ist aber minimal und fällt kaum auf. Auf beiden fährt es sich auf kurzen wie auf langen Touren sehr angenehm. Mein Mantra zum fahren auf Motorrädern wie auf Fahrrädern ist übrigens "fahre, als wärst du unsichtbar". Den Rat gab mir mein Vater vor vielen Jahren 😊

Yeah, she's a great bike. I always try to alternate between the bikes for each ride. The Messenger Bags have straps on the back, so you can attach them to the handles on each side of the W800 🙂 Bigger panniers would have to be attached elsewhere, like over or under the seat for example.
