I wonder how good a symmetrically built dirt car IRL would do when it comes to stage rallies.

Remember when that one guy's straight axle late model put 2 laps on an entire field and the yuppies banned it with lies and propaganda a week later? Pepperidge Farms remembers. Good race, though. These cars sound great and remind me of the Gen 4 and 5 cup cars.

It'd be interesting to see who would be fast and what speeds if tires were half as wide. It most certainly would take more talent than unlimited wallet!!!

The car you watched in the video only has a 8” tire. So I’m not sure how they could get smaller. And we don’t have an unlimited wallet.

Okay gotta ask 🤣, I lived in that area my entire life. For whatever reason why do the local guys hate the track so much due to its size? They all want to race the tiny tracks where it’s nearly impossible to actually race it seems like from the stands anyway. Wouldn’t the bigger tracks like this be more fun? I for the life of me cannot figure out why they hate the bigger tracks. The small ones just seem to tear the cars up more because there’s more crashes. Any thoughts or your own opinions?
@tjrousht8 Жыл бұрын
Most guys will tell you they don’t like it cause it harder on equipment then smaller tracks. It kinda is. But the same time it’s 30 thousand for a new motor for a modified these days threw a good builder. And 30 to 50 thousand for a new car. And most of the time you wreak at a smaller track it bolt on stuff. You wreak there it usually toast. Back when they got cars all the time 10 grand would get you a hell of a car. But not now days. You ask 8 out of 10 drivers that’s what there going to tell you! I mean we still took our car and it’s a fun place to race. I hope that place stays alive and I wish cody nothing but the best of luck. I like the speed planet!

@@tjrousht8 ah okay that makes sense! I’ve been seeing some back wrecks at the smaller tracks like skyline and Tyler county too. Been toasting some cars. But you’re right the big track is very fast so you screw up there it’s over. Yeah the prices of them now are insane, I’ve looked into super lates and mods both and it’s insane. The track payouts are too small for the amount you guys have in the cars. I love watching them, have been since I was a kid. My dad raced some before I was born and my great uncle was some sort of manager or something at skyline when I was a kid. I’d love to race myself but man way out of my price range sadly. WV has some great potential I just hope he’s smart with it. Have to wait and see what happens

Big tracks are hard on motors because of high RPM on the straightaways for a longer time . Our motor has to be rebuilt every 1200 laps if we ran there every week it would be wore out in about 400 laps

Go to the little wrench 🔧 beside your car. Click edit setup and click the rf spring and turn it down on the little slider thing that will pop up and click the LR spring and do the same.

Thank's. Used to love watching the DIRT Modifieds run the NJ NY Penn tristate short bullrings. Even better were the 1/2 mile and bigger tracks like Middletown, Fonda. Flemington, Syracuse. But the bullrings... they separated the big buck guys from the built on a wish and a prayer guys. Loved the tracks like Grandview (PA), and Accord (NY). Crewed on a couple of low buck cars back in the early 60's and into the early 70's. No big haulers either. Either open trailers or in the case of a few cars flat towing to the track.

Took my new girlfriend to Hanover in PA and started her down toward 4. She was French frying and oblivious so I sort of dropped back a little (she’s a fry hound) I saw some guys smiling cause hot laps were about to start. Her first race, ever, and fry-trating. She was almost there when they threw green. Mud chunks rained down, she turned, stared, then all the guys were trying to suppress laughing but…..didn’t happen. One guy asked me “first race?”. She started to laugh and said “you owe me another fry.” She married me anyway. Anniversary is in 8 days, 34 years. She’ll want fries. Annnddd…..believe it or not her last name was…….Fries. Yes, I’m serious, truly truly.
