I met Kathi through a mutual friend and the first thing she did was sit down and help me organize my finances because it was something I knew I was in dire need of organizing. Well, I'm educated because technically I think through all of these things it just seemed so daunting so it really helped to have her walk me through the process and seeing exactly what was coming in and what was coming out, setting up a budget, how to keep track of things, seeing where I was being charged for things where I wasn't aware of, that really helped me save a lot of money. That was the first thing that she really helped me with.

I feel your pain. Sometimes I fall into the 'busyness' rut myself if I start working before I set my intentions for the day. It always helps to set up your week in advance and also stop each morning to plan what your goals are before you start your actual tasks. Being organized does pay off in spades WHEN you stop to do it in advance.

Hello ,I accidentally found this video of a professor of mathematics Jeffrey lang , he was an atheist convert to Islam !! Wait , I wasn't interested at first but this man is like Einstein , his video is about the purpose of life , this is the link : ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5fPnZqKdpejo7s ) i didn't judge ( witch is the thing that we always do because of the race , the religion ...) take a look at it , and good luck on discovering new ideas that can illuminate and even inspire millions around the world .

Hello Kathi and Alex, Thank you for this great video! this taught me a lot and I am going to use it from today :) Could I ask a question? I would like to create space and I live with my partner who is not on board. we have a tiny 1 bedroom flat and he keeps buying more toys (boxes of Aeroplane kit boxes). Just this week, I have discovered he had put 15 boxes in his side of the wardrobe instead of clothes. They are above the wardrobe also, in every drawers of the living room and in the drawers in his office. (maybe else where I didn't discover yet). This is overwhelming and when i discuss this with him, he fights to keep them as he has spent lots of money on them and it is his favourite hobby. I thought about the solution to ask him to rent a storage elsewhere, but it would cost him £800 a year or $1250. I would rather he uses that to go on holiday or something more enjoyable. I don't know what to do but it is stopping me on the way to make more space and be more organised, and relax in our home. Please give me any advice that could help towards a solution. Many thanks, Audrey London, UK.

AUD99 Hi Audrey, I feel your pain and am sorry to hear about you situation. The challenge lies in the fact that your partner does not seem to think that there is a problem. I always say "be the change you want to see". Whenever one space is organize, it invariably affects other spaces. So the only thing that you can really do right now is get your spaces organized and in order. Hopefully by organizing your spaces, he will see how different your space is and how much better your attitude is as well. It might seem far fetched but this is step one. Get your areas organized and then step back and see what happens. Bare minimum, you will feel better.

Hi Kathie, Thank you for your message. I have been meaning to write back for so long. sorry I didn't earlier. I wanted to tell you how your message inspired and worked. I can't believe the change that happened in the house. Since your message, I have been using this approach in many area of my life. I didn't realise how I used to make my life more complicated than it needed to be by trying to always force things to happen and loosing my energy along the way. It is such a relief and I really want to tell you how much this has impacted my life, my sense of peace with my surrounding. I wish you all the best and really hope you get the power and the energy to spread your message to many people. Take great care, Audrey

AUD99 Audrey, I am so happy to hear that you are feeling more peaceful and energized at the same time! I truly appreciate that you took the time to report back about the shifts that have happened in your life. It makes my work so very rewarding when I hear back from masters like yourself! Great work on loosening up and letting go of ideas/ things/ habits that on longer serve you! Keep the momentum going. I wish the best for you and your partner!

Kathi Burns, CPO Great idea! It would be a great class in High School too. I seem to have been born with the skill and desire to organize. (I have some photos of my stuff when I was a kid). When I hear you experts break it down, with fancy terms, I think to myself, I already knew that deep down. I would love to become a professional organizer as a full time job.
