canada painter - how long they last between rebuilds depends on how competitive you want to be. Top drivers rebuild them after each race and have them rebuilt so as to get the most out of them. They can be built to last a year (8 to 10 hours of track time). If maintained well and run correctly, they can run for years with multiple rebuilds. The Yamaha KT100 engine has been raced since at least the mid 80s. It's a great engine to get started in karting.

Vincent = alright I will look into it. I was asking the engines durability since I will not push it.,.,so with that kind of attitude I wonder how long would it last between rebuilds.

@Brian F. skusa is for people who cant afford to car race kt100s are the genuine deal cheap to rebuild if you run them on high oil and don't flat rev on straights it will last a life time if you ar competing with them your friend is correct 1 to 2 builds a season what's good about this it's easy to do yourself with correct tools for less then $300

Thanks. Lots to improve on, and that's what makes it a lot of fun. I know I started 12th, and I heard I finished 7th, but I'm not entirely sure. What I know for sure is that I enjoyed it very much!

I used a GoPro Black Edition. Thanks for the advice! I have much to improve on and that's what makes this exciting (to me). I enjoy every minute of it and reviewing this video makes it possible to me to see what I can improve on. I went in this race to improve my ability to pass, and I did some. Now I have new aspects to look at to improve on. I had a great time and I look forward to the next race, 11/30/13 at Grange. I hope we have as many or more Novice racers join us!

What camera did you use? You did good. It's tough when you are trying to pass and you loose two spots but you stayed on it. Good job. Lift just a bit at the entrance of the horseshoe and you will eliminate the wide drift and come out faster. And stay closer to the inside barriers when entering the Carousel, the grip is good there..
