We lost power for literally a second, and the enphase system had the power flickering on and off throughout the entire property. It was like the controller was stuck between trying to connecting to the grid and sending power from the battery. It fried my HVAC before I could get to the rapidshutdownn switch. My installer is baffled, and the data doesn't show any issues. We are definitely trying to find the root cause of the problem because that quickly could have become a house fire.

Charger is not using any power (less than 1 watt) to power the LED on the front of the display

Why is the NEMA 14-50 plug upside down (ground on bottom)? I have an RV that I will occasionally use the same plug for, but the Enphase EV 50 would require it be installed in the wrong orientation. The cable also seems too short so it can't be mounted on the side and connected with a NEMA 14-50 in the correct orientation.

Ground is currently on top as you mentioned, which requires receptical plug in wall to be flipped. New NEC code allows a longer whip, so we will be adjusting in future products. Also available is hardwired version where you could splice inside that receptical box.

I'm confused: It says @1:43 "Do not turn off the IQ Combiner breaker in IQ System Controller".. yet the Mains breaker has already shut down power to this breaker... 🤔

It opens the relay for the solar production and it wont close on its own when powering back on. You then have to call tech support for them to close the relay so the solar will produce again.

On page 8 of the CT wiring guidelines from Enphase's Critical Update List the diagram is the same as the sticker referenced in this video. I would think that Enphase could also correct the Critical Update content.

Grid Tied batteries can only be used for load shaving, to use them as a backup would only require adding in the appropriate version of the IQ System Controller for the batteries installed.

The method of logging in, around 03:55, is not recommended at this moment or won't even work. And please explaine how the ferrite toroid rings should be installed. There are several options given by Enphase and the differ.

Nice video!. I am excited and plan to install a 5.84KW SP with IQ 8+ inverters, the new Combiner 5 & 5P battery with no backup. That means I don't need the S Controller 3 for now and will add later. I am now waiting for the 8/8 webinar on how to proceed. Also waiting for AHJ permit.

Very good. Outside plugs connected with garage plugs that refrigerators and freezers are connected often input high noise and hum onto circuit.

We are installing an 16kW solar array for my home and I own a Ford F150 lightning with 134kWh battery pack. I would like to incorporate it into the Enphase smart system to provide energy during grid down situations and preferentially during peak hours. System includes IQ8A Micro Invertors, IQ4C Combiner, IQ System Controller 2 and Critical Load panel. I would appreciate any advice you could offer.

hey LTO, currently the Lightning requires a third party backup system via the ford charger and delta inverter to provide load backup. In order to have both system's, likely the best way to incorporate that product in backup, AND the enphase system would be to have separate backup loads panel, one being serviced by the enphase system, and one be serviced by the ford or the only other way, would be to install an appropriate Transfer switch between the two systems. Likely your enphase system will be used for during peak hours to provide self consumption, and the ford will be for your backup outage (larger system). without knowing your unique scenario, i'd recommend working with an installer who is certified in both systems, and is also a generator supported installer. currently, the ford does not integrate directly with any other products on the market other than the one product offering. I hope that's helpful.

@@EnphaseEnergyTraining Thank you, similar ideas by my installer. SunRun system has a lot of limitations otherwise and isn't worth the expense to run parallel. Will likely have manual switch and run it as a generator from the 30Amp by 240V plug in bed of truck instead of through the 2-way charger/backup.

Hello Enphase. Thx for the Video👍. I see how to set the lower cut off for the Battery Discharge in the App, but is there a way to Set the Top Off Charging Point? My two 10’s charge to a full 100% everyday. I would much rather only charge it to 80% or store it at 50% to prolong its life since I have 1 to 1 Net Metering (for now at least🙂)

Hey there, batteries are rated to cycle daily at full capacity, 2x daily, for the life of the battery. Please check most recent warranty data on lifespan of battery. We'd recommend perhaps running TOU scheduling and selling power back to the grid if you have excess. Completely up to the user. We aren't sure you can top the percentage of charge- at this point.

So you say the reconnect period of the enpower when disabling manual override is based on the grid profile selected. It doesn't look like you have completed the provisioning step at this point yet, and the installer toolkit says that the grid profile is set once the devices are provisioned. How does the enpower know what the reconnect time is if it has not had it's grid profile set after going through the provisioning step?

it's using the default setting for reconnect time, until the software and updates happen, then it will be based on grid profile selected in the future.

Great training video, I am from Germany and have some questions: Planed test setup: 4 x IQ7a, 2 x Enphase Rela, Envoy-S in the basement with 3 CTs measuring the grid - The production is at another building (Garage) feeding energy into the house via the garage power cable, how can I remotely bring the production CT into the main Envoy-S? Is there a TCP/IP protocol where I can feed the Envoy-S with the proper production data? Or can I use a second Envoy-S for the production which informs the main Envoy-S about the production? Or is the IQ7 smart and reports its production to the Envoy-S? Is there an option to setup zero feed energy into the grid? Will the Envoy-S communicate with the IQ7s and tell them to reduce power? You have a very smart system, thank for your advice. Regards Helmut

I had two enphase iq 10's and pv installed recently. The installers told me I didn't need consumption CT's, despite having partial home backup. Is that true?
