First of all, thank you! I’m an irrigation expert and I’m out on a property to do an inspection where these products are being used for a few of the courts. Before this video, I had no idea what I was looking at. Now, I will be rebuilding each one of theseto get these courts back up and running in Boynton Beach, Florida.

My first year dealing with Har-Tru. Learning a lot. We had to roll every day in the spring after new material was added for a few weeks until the pros finally said they were firm enough. Now we roll a couple of times per week. I'm under the impression that the firmness had more to do with regular daily play compacting it more than our rolling them did. No play, too soft. Lots of play, firm. Now if I just had a reliable irrigation system...

If you tap your foot on the court and you get any water, the courts are too wet to roll

how do you do the layout for a new court and not mess it up?

It would be nice if this court wasn’t in the hood

I agree, that is wrong, the net should be touching the floor with no gap. Strap should pass through the net 3 squares up before attaching to ground clip. Otherwise ball can go through the gap!

What should we do if the slide ends up right at the top of the net when the height is set?

How do you put it together
@stevencummings4163 Жыл бұрын
This is simply wrong. The net should not be “tucked up inside”. The second strap should go back through the net at the third square up and connect to the harness strap on the same side of the net as the first strap. This way the net rests on the playing surface as it should….from a former USTA umpire.

Jim. Not if you have a hurricane coming and you need to completely remove the windscreen. If you don't, you'll damage the windscreen you might have just bought or worse yet the fence will be completely damaged. Not a fun time.

What's the price range for this type of resurfacing? Say for three courts all adjacent to each other.
@edwinbooth2828 ай бұрын
I’ll try an answer. Iv been maintaining both sprinkler irrigation and subsurface courts for forty + years. It depends on how many tons per court. The court is built with forty tons, which when compacted, will work out to be 1” of surface. About regrading of three courts it could run you anywhere from $15,000 to $35,000. That’s a very rough estimate. This includes new tapes of course. I would call Har-Tru, inc for more info.

zip ties don't work worth a crap, first wind we had they all ripped loose.
@johnbrennan75002 жыл бұрын
Make sure you use the black (UV Resistant) 100 lb. tensile strength on top and use 50 lb. on the bottom and ends, this way in high winds the 50 lb. ties break first saving the fence, posts and wind screen from further damage. Then you just re-attach the bottoms and ends with the 50 lb. ties again.
@johngeraghty2757 Жыл бұрын
You want the tys to break if the wind gets really bad. If they don't break, the grommets might get damaged and you your fence might come down. It's much better to replace 5 cent tys vs the windscreen panel or worse the fence get damaged. Contact me for all your tennis needs.
@armadilllo Жыл бұрын
@@johngeraghty2757 So now I have zip ties at the top, none on the bottom and use bungee cords very loose on about every 10th bottom grommet. It has some give now and doesn't blow up over the top of the wrought iron fence and get caught on the spikes. We have about 600' of fence line between the school and the park and it hasn't broken any top ones since I did this even in 50mph winds👍🏼
