If black people would learn how to pronunciate and stop mumbling, it'd be a lot easier to understand them and possibly easier to get along. It's a classic example of sheer ignorance...wanting to belong but refusing to accept that one must make the effort.

With the recent landmark decision for Negro League stats to be included in the Major League Stats, this Epic Classic should be re-released world-wide and required viewing for everyone in Sports. Truly outstanding production, casting, and performances by Delroy Lindo, the Late Great Mykelti Williams, Blair Underwood and Sallie Richardson who is still fine!!!

I still dont understand why arent black youth taught about the Negro League Era, it was more than just baseball. Its a part of history ALL black Americans should be prideful of. The importance of how they were self funded, self managed, the amount of talent the negro leagues produced.

Blacks were cheated, whites were cheated, baseball was cheated & America was cheated by having a racist Commissioner. All baseball records before 1947 need an asterisk.

I love the comments expressed by Keepdapocket and Perrymcnee 7365. The Racism in that era was enough to send a putrid stench to High Heaven itself. The glorious black athletes of today owe an unpayable debt to these Pioneers of Yesteryear. As slowly and painfully as grass growing through a sidewalk. Their determination battered down the barriers barring their way. Until equality was reached on the shoulders of their Martyrdom. Keepdapocket has a unique story to tell. His Grandfather actually knew the man himself. The legendary Josh Gibson. Playing alongside Gibson on the great Homestead Grays. As for his talent, Gibson was so gifted that Hall of Famer Roy Campanella called him, "Not only the greatest catcher, but the greatest ballplayer I ever saw." Another typical comment was, "Gibson was at a minimum, Two Yogi Berras." What a telling scene the Rainout of the Exhibition game with the Major League players is. Gibson and the other great black players were rained on figuratively for their entire careers. Yet, they soldiered on. Until the sun finally rose on a glorious new era.

Having been a fan during the dark days of the steroid days of the ‘90s and ‘00s, and watching men like Rose, Gwynn and Ripken doing it the right way, it saddens me to this day that there were men that played the right way for the right reason that were not allowed to play in the major leagues for no other reason than simply because of the color of their skin.
