The Pac 10 suspended half the teams in the conference (USC, UCLA, Arizona State, Oregon, & Oregon State): something no conference would do now. And despite that, Washington still won the conference outright.

This was only one season before i got to Seattle to start my 24 year stay, the nest 24 years of my life. I became a quick Husky fan, and still one today. Robin Earle reminds me a bit of Rick Fenney from the Husky teams in the mid1980s and a nice career with the Minnesota Vikings.

This has to be the only Team in History to start 1-4 and go to the Rose Bowl 🌹?? The Game was also way different back then. Half the teams still ran The Wish Bone. "Warren Moon another great game 10-17 and 154 yards passing". If a QB had those numbers today, they would be benched, lol.

I've been a Washington Husky fan every year, except 1st grade! My teacher was a fan of Wazzu. And, I had a crush on Mrs. Burns, so I was a Wazzu fan. But, my second grade teacher, Mr. Patterson, was a Husky fan. So, I've been a Husky since then. Even though I've lived in Oregon for the past 20 years, I'm still loyal to all the Seattle teams-Huskies, Seahawks, Sonics, Kraken, Sounders, and Mariners!

My mother was a UW alumnus while Dad was an OSC (which became OSU) grad. My first recollection of Washington football was the Rose Bowl game in 1961 which they had on the TV. I did not understand football then so was not overly interested. But since Mom was a Husky alum I was for them. Mom and Dad had a 50-cent bet on the game every year and I do not recall her having to pay him very often... When I went to the UW, I would go to all the home games and have been an avid fan ever since. Go Dawgs!

Plu running a state of the art spread offense for 1999 vs rowan who has more size and talent but running an old pee wee football I formation heavy offense that's easy to read and completely outdated especially for 1999.Rowan wasn't ready plain and simple just bad preparation and game plan.
