I was really prepared to be mad about the Cromagnon change. But god damned if its not just ad good. There is a little sharpness that makes it harder to have 3 or 4 in a row like i did the original, but the flavors might be BETTER.

I think I might like it better than the original.

“If cuba can set prices with their quality control the way it is why can’t we” another reason you’re seeing price increases. And you know, I agree. Media also doesn’t report on half of the stuff going on because they don’t want to burn any bridges, most can report on this stuff but choose the fluff that everyone else is already reporting on. As for “will people give a shit” I think cigar media thinks that random people are tuning in or just casual smokers…most of the people consuming cigar media are people in the industry, or your more passionate smokers who actually give a damn what’s going on. The guy smoking a couple cigars a month is not going to care about 90% of the stuff reported on.

It's not so much that the industry needs to attract "hipsters," but it does need to appeal to a new consumer base... and the thing people in cigars don't want to hear is that they are the ones alienating those potential new consumers. Cigar makers/shop owners/lovers of all stripes want to pretend it's both apolitical and a space where everyone can come together, but if I go into a shop and they've still got the "cigar store Indian" that's not going to be welcoming to *everyone.* The veneration of Winston Churchill, the way the Cuban embargo gets discussed, the association with gun culture... I mean, none of this stuff is apolitical. But with that culture in place around cigars, it's only ever going to appeal to people for whom that culture is appealing. And as younger people's politics move away from all that, cigars are seen as a relic of time they want to further distance themselves from. Like it or not, the cigar industry will have to learn how to actually be embracing of difference in order to make that outreach to a new demographic.
@bencrust4516 Жыл бұрын
I agree but at the same time the cigar store Indian is classic.it’s a part of the culture and in a positive way.they were the first people to make a smoke cigars.a lot of these “new” consumers are young and need to understand that it’s not contradicting,it’s history!!a lot of millennials are so sensitive!!and have a problem with a lot of history of America and cigars and such.I get it but just let it be and people will not “out”you of anything!!just stop being a pussy about everything 😊
@mdstube1986 Жыл бұрын
@@bencrust4516 without meaning to do so, you've highlighted exactly why it's difficult to recruit new cigar smokers, so I guess that's something
