hi. are you in australia? you sound australian but the yarns you mention are all US. Maybe if you blocked the hood it might sit better? Can you tell me what you dislike about this yarn and did you do a swatch first? anyhoo, I like the hood, especially the colours and it looks straightforward, nice to meet you :)
@Enchantment._.MakesTessa7 күн бұрын
Hi! I am American! I did a small swatch and since I met the gauge close enough I decided to go with it. This yarn isn’t bad per se but since it is an acrylic roving the texture is in my option awful to work with. It splits constantly when working with it. I also don’t think I like the color way which may be a factor as well my dislike for the overall finished item. Thank you so much!🧡

What yarn do you use?
@Enchantment._.MakesTessa3 ай бұрын
Here I used the lily sugar n cream 100%cotton worsted yarn. I believe you can it at Joann’s and Michaels. (Michaels sells a store brand that is the same thing.)

I‘m very excited to make one even though I‘m completely new to crochet. Can I ask how thick the yarn was that you used? :)
@Enchantment._.MakesTessa3 ай бұрын
Good luck! I used 2 strands of weight 4/ worsted yarn. Holding both threads as 1. Easy brands for this are like red heart super saver or Joann’s big twist value worsted or lion brand pound of love. If you want to use a thicker yarn and only 1 strand, lion brand thick n quick is a good one.🧡

Hello! The tut is amazing but I wanted to know how would I put the orange lines a little closer?
@Enchantment._.MakesTessa3 ай бұрын
So I believe I did 2 rows of red, 1 row of orange, 7 rows of red, 1 row of orange, 2 rows of red. The easiest way to put the orange stripes closer is changing the number of red rows in the middle. For example you can do 4 rows of red then 1 orange row, 3 rows of red, 1 orange row, 4 rows of red. That will move them closer together. I recommend keeping the same total, so for the videos example the total colored rows on either side is 13 as long as the red/orange rows total 13 then the pattern should still work. Feel free to message me on instagram if you have any questions or want more help.🧡

Love the overalls! If you still need a little help on how to make it fit better, where its loose you could always go in with elastic thread and weave it into your problem areas of the overalls. And same for the straps if you're worried they'll stretch out. You can just crochet them in or weave them through the stitches already in your garment. Hope i was able to help a little bit!

My loops are sticking out and up, rather than sort of falling down like yours… does this mean my tension is too tight? Or should I go up a hook size? x

Some that happens, try going up a hook size. If that still doesn’t work, please reach out on instagram so I can see a photo to see if I can help more.🧡 Insta: @enchantment._.makes

recommendation for people trying this! as you go around lay each loop down after attaching it to the base chain. that way you won’t have to fidget with it as you go. it make the spiral look far cleaner!

@Enchantment._.MakesTessa5 ай бұрын
I don’t have written one but here ya go, let me know if you have any questions. Using black chain 33 then from the second chain from the hook half double crochet across. 5 total rows of black, then 2 rows of red, 1 row of orange, 5 rows of red, 1 row of orange, 2 rows of red, 10 rows of black, 2 rows of red, 1 row of orange, 5 rows of red, 1 row of orange, 2 rows of red, and final 5 more rows of black. Seem the sides with 5 rows of black together and then seem up the top and it’s done. 🧡

Really cute hat! Do you have a written pattern for this?
@Enchantment._.MakesTessa6 ай бұрын
I don’t yet. But start with 12 sts and continue to increase in sets of 12 (row 2 24 stitches, row 3 36 stitches and so on). Until you hit 72 stitches, do 7 rows of 72 stitches. Then increase every 3 stitches for the next row and then do to rows of 96. And cast off let Mel now if this helps!🧡

Do you have a written pattern? I am sorry if that’s rude to ask
@Enchantment._.MakesTessa6 ай бұрын
Not rude at all. Basically, chain any number (20 or more recommended) then add 4 more, slip stitch into the 5th stitch from the hook. Then chain 4 slip stitch into the same space again. Chain 4 again and slip stitch into the next open chain space. Then chain 4 and slip stitch into the same stitch again. Repeat this to desired point and then add 1 chain to each cluster. Continue to do a portion at 5 chains and then increase again. Be sure to cap at 8 chains as after that point it has too much gapping. Let me know if that helps at all. I can also release a more detailed pattern on instagram if you would like. Just let me know. 🧡
