This is one of my favorite songs of all time of his. I know people underrated but I first heard it when I was in high school and my friend's dad said if you don't like Dylan's music fuck you don't buy it and that always influence me. I love the way this song bounce along even though it had a dark theme

Thanks for posting that. i saw this tour on October 14, 2001, at UCSB. I've seen 8 Dylan concerts in my life, the first one was on September 3, 1965, Hollywood Bowl, a couple of days after Highway 61 Revisited was released. I didn't know that at the time,, i learned it from the internet decades later, but we thought we were going to hear a lot of stuff from Bringing it All Back Home and before. We didn't know there was going to be NEW DYLAN SONGS!. Me and my friends were 16 then. Our audience and the audience in New York a week before were the first people to hear Desolation Row and Ballad of a Thin Man, etc, it was so good. Good audio at the concert, he was making sure his lyrics were heard, clear, every word, he wanted what he had created to be heard. The second concert i saw was about 8-9 years later, Feb 14, 1974, the last date of the Beyond the Flood tour, last time for Dylan and the Band to play together, end of the Band as a group, Another thing i didn't know at the time. long concert with great sets. The acoustic dylan set was very powerful and moving, the lights went down with a spotlight on him and his acoustic guitar and he started playing in the darkened Inglewood Forum, and people just started lighting a match or lighting their cigarette lighter and there were all these little lights all over the audience in the dark, i think it was expressing a feeling about seeing him again after so long , he had been gone for so long, he stopped touring and performing in 1966 less than a year since i saw him, and that was it, no Dylan and not even any news of him, just have to go on with life, and then all of a sudden there was this tour with the Band, after 9 years in my case, i later heard it was impossible to get tickets for those concerts, at the time, lots of famous people couldn't get tickets. A rich relative gave my boyfriend our tickets. but i didn't know at the time that it was hard to get in, there were three days of concerts at that venue i think.

I was there on Saturday at the Gorge, what a fantastic Outlaw Festival! Bob was great, he talked his way through several songs, unfortunately his singing voice is gone, not sure why. I guess it’s age, but Willie sang beautifully. I love this song.

I have mixed feelings. I enjoy these recordings from the other side of the world (Spain) but if I were there I'd enjoyed it with my own eyes and ears. Don't think you could if you recorded pretty much the whole show...

You're not the only one with mixed emotions. You have to appreciate the effort these people gave to record these shows.

Lyrics The guilty undertaker sighs The lonely organ grinder cries The silver saxophones say I should refuse you And the cracked bells and washed-out horns Blow into my face with scorn But that not way I wasn't born to lose you I want you, I want you I want you so bad Honey, I want you The drunken politician leaps Upon the street where mothers weep And the saviors who are fast asleep They wait for you And I wait for them to interrupt me Drinkin' from my broken cup And ask me To open up the gate for you I want you, I want you I want you so bad Honey, I want you Now all my fathers, they've gone down True love they've been without it But all their daughters put me down 'Cause I don't think about it Well, I return to the Queen of Spades Talk with my chambermaid She knows that I'm not afraid To look at her She is good to me And there's nothing that she doesn't see She knows where I'd like to be It doesn't matter 'Cause I want you, I want you I want you so bad But I want you, I want you I want you so bad Honey, I want you Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Neil Young

I think I was one of the few Dylan fans who loved Dylan's 'religious' albums, although not religious at all myself. His performances of these.songs were some of his most intense and impassioned, and this is a fine example. Thank you.
