Came for Seth but interviewer had great questions. Learned something new. Seth’s first special was so funny. He and Netflix had this button where you could skip the politic jokes but I think he said there were no political jokes in this one. I’m only 3/4 of the way through the interview and I felt compelled to say what a great interview this is.

Yeah, the cool thing about Agatha in particular is Kathryn is now setup like Ian McDiarmid was in Star Wars with Emperor Palpatine. She can play that role the rest of her life and the older she gets, kind of the better. No hair dye, absurd amounts of plastic surgery, or hideous fitness and diet regimens (to try to maintain a 6 pack or try to look good in head to toe spandex or pleather) necessary. She can just age, and (in fact) the older she gets the less wigs and makeup she'd need. I mean, Ian got to play that role for 40 years. He always looked great because it was all long, flowy robes and it was always supposed to be an old man (even when Ian was young in real life...the older he got the more authentic it looked), and he looked powerful because it was all magic. There was nothing sad about him growing old. His age never diminished him or the character and in fact, it helped him. And if they all agree over time the chess board is setup for Kathryn to be able to do a really similar thing with Agatha. Kathryn could literally pop in periodically and reprise this role the rest of her life and she would look fantastic. And in fact if she could just let herself age naturally...all the better for this role. She could Maggie Smith this up. Maggie Smith played sassy old women for 30 or 40 years and she was amazing at it.

My mom had me when she was 41 and started meno shortly after. Knowing what I know now, I understand why she was so emotional, angry and fanning herself all the time. I have deep respect and admiration for her going through that with toddlers

Came here for Seth, but loved the interview format, so I will be back! It’s kind of funny when you think about it, if it is true that Seth picking on trump at that dinner did launch his political career, you can say that Seth accidentally gave himself his own career with endless material and job security. Life IS long. And weird!

That’s true. He shared that story on Neal Brennan’s podcast in July 2023. However, bearing in mind that the universe is almost 13.8 billion years old, a car ride a year ago essentially just happened. Pretty sure that’s what Seth Meyers meant when he said “the other day.” Keeping that level of perspective and thinking long term have always been very important to Seth. Plus, I think saying “the other day” helps with telling the story.

I have an accent. My voice is not the best. But I am not presenting news. I do not like her voice. It is not personal against her, she got her voice at birth. But I simply can't listen to her, though I have tried over and over. Instead of hearing WHAT she says, it gets lost, and I and so many, tune off NPR when she speaks.
