Thanks for posting! Love your content. I’m trying to teach myself and 6 month old cocker more interactive games whilst out walking. Would you consider a video/reel on teaching the basic commands and whistles for this?

Chuck it balls, and for hunting I just use regular tennis balls and rub some scent on them.. you can buy liquid scent for various things like pheasant or rabbit online

Just got my first gun dog pup this week! This is the first of your videos I've stumbled upon but looks like you're doing great, I shall be going back through your catalogue looking to pick up some tips :) I'm no hunter, but obviously these kind of games are invaluable to these dogs!

Such a beautiful dog! Great video too. I have a black version of Milly. He has a very similar coat, smooth and shiny, however how do you go about trimming the body overall? Do you use clippers, or hand strip the back and sides etc?

@@drewzilla282 Thank you! I have another video on my channel where I trimmed around her legs and underside with scissors ☺️ I only use clippers underneath their paws!

I really love your video's 😀 may I ask if they are the working breed or the show (but very much trimmed)? I'm in doubt, because of theire very long ears 😉 I thought the working breed has shorter ears than theirs?

@@paulinebrus7580 no problem! They are both working cocker spaniels ☺️ I don’t trim their coat on their body at all but there are also working cockers with a longer coat!

Just so that you know, filming and talking to the camera as you drive could land you with points on your licence. This would be because by talking and looking at the camara (which you do) could be argued that you are not fully concentrating on the road ahead and other drivers and pedestrians, it's a silly thing to do.

@@Cockermilly The video was made in Wales and you are sat in the Right hand seat. All vehicles in the UK, unless they are left hand drive imports, are right hand drive....

Oh my the more I scan your videos the more Millie and meg are similar! Even down to how they chew their chews! Meg is from Tranmire Sprockers and Cockers in Whitby, a fantastic lady who breeds for military and police as well. We met megs parents and grandparents! Meg chose us as we went to see the boy and meg was er nope you’re mine! She was just 2 weeks old and her eyes are barely opened. I’d lost my border collie Skye in the weeks before and wasn’t coping, I’d had a springer before and hubby loved cockers so we went sprocker! We had called yvonne and she had this litter of Sprockers that hadnt yet been advertised so we went to see, and we are now 7 years down the line! We met her brother Barney, and we are so glad meg changed our mind as he was huge and a complete independent lunatic lol! Meg must have know we were her humans, 😊😊

Reminds me when I collect my sprocker spaniel Meg, 7 years ago! Millie is so like meg their colour is identical, unfortunately once meg was spayed her coat has gone fluffy, I’ve tried all sorts to strip it out. She HATES grooming and the brush, can only do a teeny bit and she’s off! I do all megs grooming, and clipping it’s not perfect far from it but she’s a working sprocker breed not a show dog! She spit in the woods and tears around like a whirlwind on steroids! She’s taught herself to help me with my medical issues as did my last dog but in a different way! I’d be lost without her.😊

With respect and for your dear spaniels health consider a raw diet. Top holistic vets will agree.

I feed my chocy cocky wet and dry food. I know owners who have given raw but their dog hadn't agreed with it so had to switch, and also the other way round My auntie had to give her bulldog Raw due to allergies. It is so dog dependent and any responsible owner will look into which they think would be good for their dog which I'm sure this lady will have done :)

Milly is a gorgious girl! Thank you for these tips! I have an American Cocker Spaniel and I started to groom him myself a few months ago! He has thick and long curly hair, so this was quite overwhelming at first. However, after a couple of time, I have now become more confident. It is also enjoyable to do this with your pup. I find it to be a special bonding moment! Thank you for this instructive video! Cheers from Canada! 🐶🐾

Excellent tutorial with lovely Millie. My working cocker boy is now 31 weeks old. I understood that workers didn't have long hair as such however the hair from his middle back is growing longer leaving a line like a bad barber haircut. No way would I consider clippers. Any advice.

You can try getting a “greyhound comb” and wrap rubber bands around the teeth (pushed down to the comb spine). This will help pull out dead undercoat so that the top coat can lay flat.

I usually do this every 3 months.. I also do some handstripping on her legs and ears between the full groom as this hair grows a bit quicker!
