Not in this case because the sheet wasn't trimmed previously so there is nothing to be untrimmed.

Great video, thanks. i found that plasticity is very hard to work with when it comes to importing vector files. i have made some simlpe vector text in affinity designer and impoted it as svg to plasticity, and the amount of surprices with random fails from plasticity to read and behave proper is just insane. this need to be improived. thanks for the video tho.

@@rolfalm Plasticity doesn't like random and redundant points in vector paths. Everything needs to be clean and kept simple in order to work properly in Plasticity.

@@3Dto2D I've seen that one. very good but I was thinking more along the lines of a 3d scan (mechanical (not very clean)) and trying to align straight faces (from uneven ones) to blend together, align holes... features...

Just a quick note to viewers, the order u write the script ,is the order they appear on the pie menu. The first item will appear at the 12 o'clock position (top) on the pie and then everything else will be listed in a CW fashion.

started learning plasticity recently and im loving this software so much. could there be a place in a future video for joining 2 curves with a shared point where then you can double click them to set continuity. haven't heard another video mention that specifically. maybe its well known but i was surprised to discover and think its quite valuable. and mention toggle between spline point and control point curve with Tab key during same video would be great. thanks. love your videos

At 20:26 you are using XNurbs to surface the Tip. Is this not possible with patching or lofting? I can't seem to recreate it with those 2 methods. I do not have XNurbs since I only have an Indie license.
@3Dto2D23 күн бұрын
You can do it without XN: select the edges of the bottom sheet, duplicate for creating a curve, run rebuild curve with Points method (10 points), use this curve along with the other ones for patching. Hope this helps...

Just so people are aware, if the object they're trying to place *doesn't* easily allow for offsetting like the example used here, you can offset the entire object during the placement step by using the yellow pole gizmo (the blue one adjusts the Scale of the placed item, and the ring allows for rotation) or hitting the D key and then moving the mouse the distance you need.
