I’m new to this art. I found your tutorials the most helpful. I was getting ready to purchase Dixie Belle Products this morning until I just viewed this video. I am so glad I found this and did not support this horrible company. I’m now looking for your new videos and seeing what companies you now recommend. 😢❤

You know what sucks? I’m an accountant. I don’t know if Dixie Bell is public or went public, but I always encourage my clients to surprise attack with an audit because that’s the best way you’re going to measure any holes if you will always be in contract that if something arises out of suspicion or do not resolve something within a certain amount of time, you are able to audit them much like the oil and gas industry. We live and learn. Brandi just stay humble and pray and you know you have every right to be upset but they’ll get what’s coming to them as long as you keep doing your thing but in the future, let it be in your contract to audit.

@melindapinner4035 they are privately owned, not public. Have tried to sell several times, but no one wants it because it's just a repackaging operation. They repackage hardware store products about sell at an increase, no proprietary formulas or original ideas. They're an additive company, not a manufacturer

Thanks for telling your story . I was just getting ready to purchase alot of there product to do my hole hose in steampunk using their products but now I'll pass and will find another company. If there Willing to shit on you ( someone pushing there products and making them money ) you know they would do the same to us . Best tool you and us to use is word of mouth . Ive already told handful of people I've seen at my local craft store and they now also pass on them .

Very pretty! I want to try resin - haven’t got the nerve yet. This is off subject I know, but I’m interested in if you have used Wise Owl Heavy Metal Gilding Paint and how you like it. Is it good for accenting furniture instead of wax? Thanks in advance for taking time to answer!

It's beautiful for accenting with a bit of shimmer,especially like the bronze. Here is a piece done with some bronze accents instagram.com/p/C9LOMsaSIp3/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

My God, get over yourself. You signed a contract and then chose to walked away. Unless the contract gave you rights to the product, they would owe you nothing. Most contracts would not have given you rights to the product - if they did, you would have sued instead of making videos to defame them. So if you have standing, shut up and sue. If not move on.
@BrushedbyBrandy16 күн бұрын
@seanreidy1420 they did violate my contract, it's black and white, me and several other artists have stated exactly that. Except the legal advantage goes to them for having the $$$ to fight us into silence for years. The retainers alone on a contract case for 2-5 years of legal services would blow your mind. I did retain rights to everything I created in my contract, they licensed for a fee...that was never paid. There's a reason they can't come after me for talking, its the truth How do you know its true, after we all left, they revised their artists contracts. They now own ANYTHING an artists creates while in contract. They write a children's book, DB owns it. They also added a $10k penalty for speaking negatively about them. All of them are owned. It allows DB to do exactly this on repeat, without penalty, unless people like me, that have the ability, speak up first!

@plips7175519 күн бұрын
Wait a minute, how can that be done without mention and paying of the artists.. violates copyright laws. All designs should be copyrighted. I’m assuming you did all that. How did the company overstep that. Sounds like you needed a copy right or just a business type lawyer involved and let him respond on your behalf in a formal business letter sent by postal mail with a tracking where they need to sign the card they received it and the post office returns it to you. It sounds like this company is handling communications in this manner to avoid actually talking to the brand ambassadors. It sounds like you really were employees of the company but they considered you a self employed contractor. Which it doesn’t sound like you were that because they set all the parameters. Dept of Labor can help you with this and will know the questions to ask of you. There is a formal definition of a self employed contractor vs an employee.
@BrushedbyBrandy19 күн бұрын
@plips71755 because as a larger company they can drag out the legal process so it's unaffordable for small businesses to fight. 2-5 years in the legal system.
@plips7175519 күн бұрын
And sometimes you feel like you need to choke back and push down how you feel trying to not cause an issue because you don’t want to harm or cut off a valued relationship. But in a business situation, either you are a distributor of a product and you are a representative for their products “exclusively”. But if you aren’t selling their products directly then you would want to do your own thing and recommend the product but you are free to do your own thing. The company has no control over you because you don’t sell their product, you don’t take any money from them. And at that point, again they have absolutely no control. You buy at retail like anyone else. That is the only way to be free to do your own thing. The other option is to just purchase at a discount because you buy so much product. Like I purchase a product and the more that I purchase to resell, the more discount I earn. I can resell or keep for my own use for my business. And the supply company doesn’t control what I resell the product. They get paid by me at a price they set. What I do after that, they don’t care, they got their money which allows them to make a profit. They are happy, I’m happy. No big deal. And no real contract. Now that’s how the world works in general. But you are getting commission but aren’t really doing anything as such. Yes you are doing videos and that takes time, but you have generated a product to sell ie the piece of furniture. I don’t like these brand ambassador situations because most companies like this operate as to what you have encountered. So sorry you ended up mixed up in this and they didn’t maybe fully explain what could happen. I believe this happens with Amazon, Etsy, KZbin where algorithms cause issues and the companies have more control or maybe they don’t understand what happened. I realize it’s a new way of working and making a living but as a 70 year old who spent most of her life working for Fortune 500 companies full time for the top executives. And I have done my share of working part time for basic multi level marketing companies like Avon, Christmas Around the World, Coventry Jewelry, Pampered Chef, you name it. I don’t even know if some of these are even in existence now. A couple definitely are. But at the time I worked with them was before computers were around and the term algorithms was something nobody knew about those things except maybe the government.
@plips7175519 күн бұрын
My question is what happened so we avoid it. Right now just in to the video, I don’t really understand what happened.

@plips71755 here is a short form made later that may summarize better. In short, their greedy business practices have devastated many small businesses, artists and retailers all with similar stories. Profit over people in every aspect of the business and there are too many good choices out there to tolerate it. Silence was allowing more people to be devastated by them. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6rXqod8dsxlpNE

Thank you, this is what I was looking for true rub ons, not the piece of design that you put Matt medium gel and then have to rub off the paper, or the packing tape ideas. I don’t think those end up as professional as these do. But here is the issue before I go to the website of what you are using. How do I get these custom done with my own artwork etc?

You compared your disappointment in a company to the me too movement? Really do you understand what that movement was? Being raped or worse.? Can you really compare the two. I am sorry. I am a fellow crafter and this was a poor choice of words. The fact that you haven’t edited this out tells me you really believe that it’s comparable. This survivor will tell you you’re wrong. I am sorry I just had to say something for the thousands of survivors of trauma.
@BrushedbyBrandy19 күн бұрын
@RedShackGiftsanddecor it's a victim empowerment movement. Championing not standing down, which is always a positive thing. It's a reference, not a comparison

@BrushedbyBrandy19 күн бұрын
@RedShackGiftsanddecor it says "sort of like" hardly a comparison, its a reference. A modern movement reference that people could understand as encouraging speaking up for yourself. I could never see that as a bad thing to refer to. Voices are always stronger when united together and that is 100% the intent behind the words, nothing more
