I tested it today, rode for about a kilometer and found that the brake lever position is giving me pain in my ankle. The lever position is in the same plane as the footpeg. If only the lever was placed a bit down.

I have given my Himalayan 450 for the second service, which is clocked at 2600 km.. And from the service centre, they informed me my rear breakpad was done. But I don't use rear breaks much. I depends on front break and engine breaking mostly

I would say always prefer to wait and take while you give the service bro. If you are there you will be able to inspect if the break pads are really worn out and you can check and change, orelse they might cheat you

Additionally, it's worth noting that the two vehicles involved, They don't have any crash guards installed, atleast in the pic that I saw.

Yes, totally agree with your point, RE should have anticipated it because not all people like OEM products. Both the motocycles installed the aftermarket crash guard, but they have removed it in the pics. One used legendry customs and not used ZANA.
