Nothing wrong with appreciating a good car, which the Cyberster certainly is. Democratising the convertible grand tourer. Good on you MG. But change those arrow lights. They aren’t necessary.

Nothing to do with MG. Nothing to do with racing heritage going back to the 1920s. A 2 tonne ev built on a hatch back floorpan in a police state with a plastic MG badge stuck on it. Shame on you.

I saw this car at a car show in Malaysia 2 weeks ago. The seat height is fine for me, but it might be an issue for anyone over 6 feet tall. The interior materials feel solid. The scissor door closes very gently when near the frame. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to test drive it, but regarding the brake system and body control, many reviews claim it’s good enough for daily comfort driving. It’s tuned by experts for comfort instead of having a hard racing suspension. I placed an order today

I saw this car at the Bangkok International Motorshow yesterday.. Sat in it and looked at the cabin fittings. This car is cool! Cabin feels solid, no creaks. The doors are not a gimmick but give a sense of occasion. I like this car. Here it is priced at the the same level as a Model 3 Performance. Super surprised by this car. Not so sure about that tail lights though. I personally would love this AND a Model 3 Performance in my driveway for less than a BMW M2. And enough spare change to buy a FORD Ranger Double Cab Raptor. Value for money..

1. Never mentioned the fact that he is sitting too high as the top of his head is above the header rail. 2. Didn't mention that the two outer screens are obscured by the steering wheel and your hands. 3. Didn't mention the cheap plastics elsewhere in the build. 4. Didn't mention the lack of feel from the steering. 5. Didn't mention the lack of body control on anything but glass roads. Overall, probably the worst review Tiff has ever presented. Sniffs of paid to promote the car for a car group and nothing else, which is a great pity. Come on chap. You're better than this. Much better.

@@adrianbennett3761 I think it will, in small numbers. But the packaging is wrong and the mad placement of the two outer screen is a real oversight. If the upcoming tarrif charges on MG in particular actually happen, then now is the time to buy one however as a 34% increase in import charges making the twin motor £79GBP isn't too favouranle.

Stick on a badge from a maker in Zuffenhausen, and people would be raving about this Cyberster. Of course, you'd have to replace the name with some 3 numeric numbering to keep up with the Zuffenhausen tradition.

Oh dear, not a proper sports car and to make matters worse is the nasty ( in my opinion ) plastic upholstery. I think I will be staying with my Mazda MX5 with Nappa Leather upholstery not a by product of the petrochemical industry. Reasonable price? ?? It's £60k,! Almost double the price I paid for my MX5 Homura 2ltr brand new last year....and my MX5 will be around in 20-30 years time.

And after 30yrs you will have spent close to £150,000 on petrol, never mind all the other bits and pieces, including the odd new engine or two. The MG will also still be around of course, a new battery perhaps, but a mere fraction of the overall cost of your POS!

@ianwingfield4814 as you couldn't possibly know my annual mileage I would like to know how you arrived at that statement . @@Beorn. I think you'll find he is "winging" it...... The Cyberstar will be worth bugger all long before that time whereas your MX-5 will be worth a tidy few. Had a Sport Recaro in 2016-2022 and loved it. Just replaced it with a new BMW Z4 M40i Handshalter - 6-speed manual. Like yours but bigger!!

@@davewheeler7679 One is a proper sports car, lightweight, agile, fast & accurate steering with real feedback, excellent manual gearbox, compact & low cost, the Cyberstar is fat, heavy, ponderous in agility, poor uncommunicative steering and will leave you high and dry in about 230 miles if you can't find a charger that works. They are both good in their own right - the MX-5 has it's faults but you can't really compare the two.

Interesting car, will suit those looking for quiet open top motoring rather than outright driving excitement. Other reviewers have pointed out it’s more a GT car than a sports car; I’m surprised you didn’t give a view on this Tiff having sat next to you on a sideways lap around Thruxton. I get it’s a promotional piece not a review but think you can explain who the car is for without having to be damning.

I drive a 911 (996.1). Ive worked on it: Bilstein B16 suspension etc. Made it really work on B-roads. I dont really like new cars with all the electronics. But there is one new car that makes saliva come out my mouth. It is not Porsche, it is not Ferrari, not Beamer, ot even a Lotus which has a lot for it but then a lot against it. No, my dream new car is the Alpine A110. I believe it is the best new sports car there is. But I think they should not be going the stiffer AR-bar route in developing hotter versions because it is the relative stiffness of the bar that makes the difference between a track car and a B-road car (besides ride height). On a bumpy B-road you need independent suspension, the least amount of interconnection. That is the problem with the new Porsches. The warp stiffness is so high that on a compromised road, often twisting like a propellor the cars jump from three feet to three feet because the the ARBs create too much warp-stiffness. And for “safety” the front ARBs are made extra stiff. Do the engineers design these cars for people who want to drive them or for people who want to own them. The thing to notice is that with conventional set up with ARBs the roll stiffness goes exactly hand in hand with warp-stiffness (front and rear roll in different directions). You dont want too much roll but you dont want too much warp stiffness either. So it is a compriomise. In most European countries B-roads are neglected year by year by governments and the roads deteriorate in your eyes. Bar two sports car manufacturers every make is going for way too stiff ARBs, especially the German ones. I guess they think it is the autobahn that makes the difference. The only car I would swap my B-road optimized 996.1 is the Alpine, most likely the standard version. Imagine if you had it with manual and a three liter NA-engine. I think it would be as close to heaven we can get while alive. I have mixed thoughts about Gordon Murray but there is no way denying he knows what makes the car fun. And he could drive anything. What does he drive? An A110.

100kw charge 10 to 80 percent 45 mins. I watched a EV charging video excellent info. One of the things mentioned was why would you want to fully charge your car every time as long as you got enough to do what you need. He said when you go to a petrol station most people don't fill to the top of there tank every time they put say £10 does what it needs. Range is irrelevant on local commute. Charge what you need be on your way.
