The entire game is divided into smaller zone (or cells). This is because the engine cannot dynamically load cells as you traverse them. I mean the engine can but you will obviously see what you see here, things popin up etc. Theorically with a very fast CPU and SSD, you could load the next cell fast enough before the latch open. This would give an impression of seamless transition. Now come the other problem, the game needs to unload the previous cell, this is why after a loading screen you are on the other side. Again we could potentially imagine that the game unload the unused cells once you are far enough from them. Maybe it's possible, I don't know. The engine obviously have some limitations that prevent them from doing that. Btw these limitations are not here because bethesda is incompetent, the engine is very unique and some stuff are just inevitable sometimes. One more important information as to why the engine does not allow more than one cell at a time. This is because everything on the cell is calculated based on the starting position of the character / spaceship. If you have two cells at the same time, we have a problem since you as a character cannot be at two places at the same time.

For me is like 80%. I don't expect and don't even want Baldurs Gate level of roleplay. I just want my space adventure to be as mediocre as it can as long as it looks good like starfield does. And hey, old tech aside, bgs art style is still unmatched.

Ray tracing? Are you crazy. The game simulates sun planet moon orbits while in space and on land. The tech doesn't exist to ray trace several moonlight reflecting on the planet.

it's because the worlds are randomly generated and the ships are all custom built, so these are not cutscenes, it's real time gameplay when the ship takes off. Where they could use a cutscene to load they already have; like the docking procedures.

@@albr4 Doesn't matter. The ship door is animated. On an ssd the opening animation is more than enough time to load the interior. Most of it is just laziness On BGSs part. They rushed this game out, built it in their 20 year old crappy engine, cut massive amounts of content for the sake of making it easier and faster (no fuel consumption, no fuel crafting, no flight time just fast travel to any system you've already been too.) It's a boring mess. 1000s of unkillable NPCs. That's what made quit after 40 hours. A merc said "Im coming for you. Watch your back" so I shot him in the face. He got up, acted like nothing happened, no one cared. After playing BG3 and being able to yeet even the most important characters off mountains and having the game not only be OK with that but have a PLAN for how to deal with that eventuality, being unafraid of player freedom, being ready with backup NPCs for THEIR BACKUP NPCs, (literally, they have backup NPCs that can step in for story beats with reasons why you didn't meet them and thus couldn't yeet them.) BG3 will let you beat the game in act 2. Starfield is so afraid that you might lock yourself out of something that it's terrified of giving you actual freedom. I hate it. I hate this triple A garbage.

@EH_1995 turn based combat is fun and VERY immersive. Hence why people get so into pokemon and chess. Turn-based is the true test of intelligence

yep don't know why they've done that, all they needed to do is face the planet when you jump to them, and face away from the planet when you leave.

Atleast we don't have to watch an uneccessary cutscene

It ideally should spawning in low planet orbit with 64k procedudal planet texture.

The black loading screens added 10 seconds for me no joke. This mod really saved this game for me. The game actually feels seamless now

can't ask for a refound on steam if you spent 2 hours just on loading screen lol

@@jayg.2066 as you can see from this video, the black screen doesn't add anything, it's just there to hide the world loading in front of you.
