I have watched my Siamese sleep and she definitely dreams. She twitches and moves her legs like she’s running. And sometimes she wakes herself up and looks around like she’s scared. So, yes, I think cats can have nightmares.

My cat dreams of eating food and he flaps his gums like he's eating it while sleeping.

I experienced something similar with my Siamese a few times, although I'm not sure it involved dreaming. When he woke from a deep sleep he seemed confused and not fully awake and didn't recognise me. He got angry, thinking I was a stranger invading his home. He was clearly scared and I thought he would attack me so I backed off. After I went to another room and came back he recognised me but was worried about the stranger he saw earlier and patrolled the house for an hour. This was a cat I'd had since a kitten and he slept on my chest at night - some weird brain fog.

If I have to pee, I say in the same sing song voice, "mama has to pee pee" and she willing gets up

I'm curious why you are attributing being woken up growly and hissy to nightmares. He was in another world safely asleep and has been rudely awakened to this world. I'm always growly and hissy when awakened from a deep sleep. I'm with Momo. This world is the nightmare!

It's probably because Momo is having bad dreams. I have never heard of a Siamese cat having nightmares! But if he does start dreaming? It's about having a girlfriend for a cat I guess he dreams about having a girlfriend then he is also dreaming about having kittens!

I just picked up my calico kitten 3 weeks ago and she comes everywhere with me. Everyone that passes by us stops and has to say hello and give her a pat. She is a real peoples cat and is loving her new home and attention 🤣

Mine is a rescue from work. He’s vocal when he wants to go outside(I take him on a leash), sometimes when he’s hungry. When I take him to the vet for a grooming or check ups he’s always was so quiet in the cat back pack - the groomers and vet just love him.

Time to trim the claws…

My kitties are just like that; they know when to come for treats and tidbits when humans are eating , even if they have just been fed themselves 😸😸👏

I thought it was Alice’s ear in the foreground, so glad she made an appearance! My senior Siamese Matthew (1990-2002) used the toilet bowl, no litter box woo hoo! The flight attendants on Air France were rather amazed when he demonstrated his talent halfway across the Atlantic Ocean! He also could retrieve a coin from the tiled floor with his front paws, place it in his mouth and return it to me or another member of his adoring public, and he walked on his harness and leash. Siamese are natural retrievers. My current Siamese boys have me sifting their litter box daily because Austen loves digging away so much I felt it may affect him psychologically to deprive him!
