I think it's actually "period correct" to have a 253 HT. The HK only had the American 307 as the big option, but (if memory serves) the 253 was introduced DURING the production run of the HT. There was a special promotion to celebrate the release of the 253. The adverts called it the *White Hot Holden limited edition.* Every 253 in the first batch of V8 HT's was a white Kingswood with 3-on-the-tree and a bargain price not much more than the 186. I guess they wanted to get a lot of the brand new Australian V8 on the road as soon as possible and in the hands of buyers who wouldn't normally buy a big engine. Holden had just spent millions of dollars developing an Australian engine and they wanted to 'kick start' the sales. To begin with there was only the 253. The 308 was released in the HG the following year - I know it went into the 2nd-best HG Monaro GTS, but I'm not sure if the 253 was still the biggest engine in the HG Kingy/Prem sedans and wagons. It would be great I think to get 253 V8 badges for the front wings. A bit odd to have the 186 badges on it.

Jeez aussies love living in the past, holdens were never good cars ! some of the most underpowered v8's ever made , Boat anchors ! chewed through wheel bearings, rear mufflers, water pumps , etc. Some of the most mediocre cars GM ever made. worst car I ever owned was a VC commode !

When you upgrade to a big block 308, you’ll throw it in, over a weekend, 😉

Idk how i feel about the vf interior.

Cam n lifter fix to me great fix " hack " saves stripping it down replacing cam n lifters. Think the brakes, those discs look polished, I'd replace the discs and a nice brake pad on it, upgrade pads, reckon that will help. Plus maybe the pads are lined with that kebab ' gets everywhere that kebab 😅. Look forward to next eppy.

How insane is that car meet, loved the intro video great shots man, and great to see JUNKA over there rolling still, bloke I know over here in Perth got it out of the bush and put that tuff driveline in it, was always awesome to see it kicking about here at the various shows, I knew it went to QLD but never saw it about much at all in various vids.
